Stayed for one night this week on my own whilst here for business. I received a wonderfully warm reception from Kiki when I arrived and she happily sorted out everything I needed for my stay, like booking all my taxis and suggesting a nice place for a coffee. I had a superior room which was plenty big enough for me,...

This is a lovely, small, comfortable hotel. Staff are excellent, bed excellent, room excellent. The breakfast was a little dull, but OK. Location is excellent. One small gripe, the towels are very worn. A lovely thick fluffy tole is such an easy way you give a little luxury. Overall a very nice hotel. I'd certainly stay there again.

Our stay at this hotel was amazing. The staff were perfect and went out of their way to help you. Just streets away from designer shops, the Hard Rock Café and The Apple Store. We stayed here for 2 days whilst going to a concert at The Ziggo Dome, they did not mind us coming in late. Had breakfast one...

I stayed at this hotel for three days at the end of January and I was positively surprised by its location: close to the museums area and the I AMSTERDAM letters. It was very easy to get around to different places. When it comes to the hotel, a very kind receptionist welcomed us on the first day and gave us...

This is a smart, small and friendly hotel in a quiet area of Town, convenient for the Rijks Museum. Staff are all very helpful. Our room on the 5th floor was immaculate, with great views of the Amsterdam skyline. Bathroom more than adequate. Bed very comfortable. Breakfast: plentiful buffet. Only one minor gripe: as usual you have to lodge a...

A very nice hotel, very close to' the museum area, but not far from the center. You can walk to get to a very nice area with restaurant, pub, and bar. Very easy to get to and from the airport by bus. Well connected via tram to the most famous place of Amsterdam. The hotel iis litte, but clean and...

Terrific hotel in one of the best locations in Amsterdam. Had a superior double room- spacious, clean, and comfy and spotless bathroom and great views over Amsterdam skyline. Good choice at breakfast with extremely attentive staff. Very friendly and problem solving reception staff- they organised couriering my phone back to the UK, After I'd left it in the cab on...

First of all, the staff are very helpful. They know the city and its quirks. There is small bar where one can relax with wine or hot chocolate or after a hard day of tourist-ing, Highland Park (from Scotland). The breakfast is very good and they had gluten free bread for us - a major bonus point. Some rooms are...

I'm a bit indecisive about what to give as an overall rating of this hotel, it's a bunch of contradictions. On the plus side are an elegantly renovated older building, a pleasant and accommodating staff, and one of the best locations in Amsterdam. 5 stars for those On the other hand you have absolutely tiny rooms even by Amsterdam standards,...

I booked this hotel based on feedback written up on TripAdvisor and was not disapointed by it's terrific location on a charming and quiet street close to Museumsplein. My superior double room was spacious and had a comfortable bed. Small niggle regarding the size of the not very big wardrobe and a slightly awkward layout to the bathroom were fully...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
