I've just returned from a long weekend with my husband and some mates and we stayed at the Hotel Die Port Van Cleve. We arrived on Friday evening and were checked in within a couple of minutes. The staff were friendly, efficient and very welcoming. We had two adjoining rooms which were located at the back of the hotel, i'd...

Lovely Hotel, disappointed our room was not ready on time of check in, but given a drinks voucher by the hotel so we could have a free drink in the bar. The hotel is in an excellent location across from Dam square with a tram stop just outside. Rooms lovely, breakfast excellent, the staff were very helpful with directions and...

I stayed at Die Port van Cleve during a 24 hour layover in Amsterdam and it was just perfect for me. Because of my short time in the city, I'd only planned one activity - a tour of the Anne Frank House (a must do - and order your tickets online in advance to reserve a time slot). The Anne...

Visited over New Year, after our flight was delayed by 7 hours we finally arrived at the hotel, check in was great and the staff were very friendly. We eventually got to our room only to find it hadn't been cleaned. Still tea in mugs, beds not made, crumbs all over the carpet and no towels. We made our way...

We arrived at the hotel at 10 in the morning not expecting our room to be ready but it was! Loved everything about this hotel, and the staff was very pleasant and helpful and the location was central to literally everything! Thank you for a wonderful stay, would definitely come back.

Stayed here for 3 nights in Jan. Location was fantastic. Staff were friendly and efficient. Room was on the small side but there was adequate room for the two of us. Bathroom looked to have been recently refurbished and the shower had good power and hot water. The beds & pillows (singles) were comfortable. The Aircon was noisy and didn't...

I stayed for 2 nights and the experience was really awful . You hear EVERYTHING; footsteps , voices . It seems that the noises are in your room. The room was dirty , like abandoned. The bathroom smelled awful . Please don't go there .

1st Class hotel. 1st Class Service. Extremely helpful and friendly staff. Perfect location. Recommend to anyone. Amsterdam is full of canals which are basically water roads. A boat trip is relaxing and informative. Walking around is easy as long as you have a guide map. One warning, the Anne Frank house was first on our to do list, but unfortunately...

Neighbourhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.

Hotel Die Port van Cleve is a famous Dutch hotel located directly behind the Royal Palace & facing Dam Square. Due its central location, you will find many touristic and cultural sites within walking distance. Hotel Die Port van Cleve has a rich history.
