As a picky person i pay attention to all the details before booking a hotel, but as an LHW member i always have good choices to select from. This hotel not only lived up to the standards but also provided me with a good value for money as well. I read people complaining and reviewing with low stars about the...

I stayed at the okra for three nights during a business trip in February. Even though it was my first visit I was given a beautiful suite for the price of a normal room. It was pure luxury. Every possible amenity was provided and it was wonderful to have so much space and such stupendous views. The staff at this...

When we arrived in Amsterdam, our luggage did not. The hotel Concierge graciously tracked our bags and gave us updates as we anxiously wondered if they would arrive prior to our cruise leaving port. Luckily, we had a change of clothes in our carry-on and the hotel provided us with any extras we needed. The room was spacious and well-appointed....

Okura Hotel is located away from the tourist crowd, in a beautiful place. The executive room is huge and the bathroom has a big window facing the canals, with electric curtains. Everything is excellent, the pool, the breakfast, and they have a small executive lounge at the roof with wine, beer, and few snacks. We faced a problem during check-in...

Its all about the small touches. Three night stay with friends two of which had birthdays, nice touch when the hotel had a beautiful cake waiting in their room. Goes beyond the usual. Rooms are spacious for Amsterdam, even though a little tired looking. The views are great, no matter which side you are on. Slippers and robes provided, with...

I was very impress to receive an upgrade room on the executive floor. The staff provided excellent customer service and was courtesy and friendly from the first night to our last day. Also, I was surprised as return guest that two of the staff recognized me after 7 seven years. Our room was lovely and we had a great view...

We arrived at the hotel and were greeted by a very nice gentleman. He took us to reception to help us check in and stated that he would bring our luggage to our room for us. The receptionist was nice, but the check in process took approximately 10 minutes. She said our room wasn't ready. She said it would be...

We were booked into this Hotel for two nights before starting on a river cruise in April. The property is beautiful, restaurants exceptional but it is not close to the hustle and bustle of the city core. It is located right on the edge of residential areas. We certainly clocked lots of miles - approximately 20 minute fast walk to...

Hotel Okura is a is a good property. It's a bit outside the City Proper, but you can visit Dam Square and the museums using public transportation. The room are OK, clean, average size, with a view of the city. The restaurants are good.Strikes me as more of a business persons hotel, or a local destinations for certain cuisines(sushi).

Staying in De Pijp

Neighbourhood Profile
De Pijp
Bustling Albert Cuypstraat serves as the main drag through De Pijp and the location for Albert Cuyp Market, the largest and most famous of Amsterdam’s many outdoor markets. Beyond this sometimes-frantic thoroughfare, tiny lanes beckon urban explorers in search of the latest trends and hidden gems. Nearly half the residents living in De Pijp are foreigners and a good number of them are students. Here you'll find a multitude of ethnic restaurants, great cafes and bars, and a brilliant array of locally owned shops, all catering to a broad range of budgets and tastes.
