Was recommended by a friend who had a significantly better experience than us. Not worth 942euros for 4 nights. Admittedly I believe city tax was 80 of that. The reception area was lovely, there’s a little supermarket for snacks and the restaurant down one end. The restaurant had lovely food, we ate there a few times, they did send out cold sausages and incorrect orders a couple of times but that was probably more a language barrier- although I did point at each item on the menu to try and avoid this. Rooftop bar not open till April disappointing but understandable. The hotel itself if your are light sensitive it’s not for you… The corridor lights stay on all night so you end up with a stream of light under the door.. could do with being motion detected or dimmer at night. Careful when book the rates revolve and change on you. It was raining the first night so and the building has metal window frames the water dropping from one level to another was so loud we hardly slept. I’m not sure if the drains were blocked or what? There’s a window but I wouldn’t suggest opening it as we just had gross cigarette ash flying in. Likely from someone trying to smoke from above or either side of us. As non-smokers we didn’t particularly like this. The first time we used the shower the drains were blocked… if there wasn’t two of us in the bathroom when I was turned on it could if turned out horrifically. The water literally poured out the door. The bathroom is above the carpet level so the water would have headed straight for the bedroom. So after clearing the drain tidying up the bathroom floor flood and finally showering ourselves. We let reception know, who instead of an apology and compensation just said they would make a note. We later had a piece of card saying they had fixed the issue… except they hadn’t we had… There was also some black mould in the shower- a bit concerning. The sheets had weird little black flecks all over them. The rooms are a good size. The mattress is like a topper on top of a base. It’s a bit weird. Although wasn’t too uncomfortable.

There’s a lot I liked abut this hotel, and a few frustrations, but I’d consider staying here again. It’s in a good location, being in a quieter part of town yet only a few minutes walk from a main Metro station. Reception was always friendly but often painfully slow, with a lot of activities needing to be carried out in the back office rather than at the desk (such as reactivating a key). The lobby area is spacious, with snacks and drinks available to purchase, a coffee shop and bar / restaurant at the rear. In an evening the prices at the bar are rather steep but there’s a decent enough atmosphere for relaxing. My room was on the fifth floor and suffered with no noise, either from outside or the corridors, despite being right next to the lift. There were electric sockets next to both sides of the bed, including USB ports and the room was spacious enough. There wasn’t any air-conditioning and it was a shame that the tiny window only opened a crack, so with no fan provided it could get a little hot. The wardrobe area and all the storage was open to the room but the cushion on the window sill was a nice touch to sit on. The square pillows were a little odd. The bathroom was a lot smaller than the room but decent enough with a spacious shower. The provided towels were tiny, suitable really only as hand towels but at least there was a good number supplied. You have to leave a sign on the door before midday if you want housekeeping to visit. One of the best features of the hotel is the roof top bar, which in the summer is a perfect retreat. With good views over the canal below and rooftops of the city there’s a wonderful atmosphere and friendly staff. An interesting mix of seating including beanbags make it the ideal spot to relax in the sun at the end of a busy day. With reasonable value for money I’d consider here again and recommend for anyone not needing to be right in the heart of the action.

Fantastic experience. Clean comfortable rooms, great staff, very nice restaurant and and coffee bar. Really liked the self serve food and refreshment purchase setup. We appreciated the proximity to the metro as it made getting around the city very easy. My wife really liked the open spaces in the lobby and reading areas.

I was disappointed with several aspects of this hotel. I knew it was far from the center of town, which was fine, as there is a metro and train station very close. The room is basic. Towels are basic. There was no comfortable chair. Lighting was awful. There are only 2 elevators and they are slow and were always too crowded. We got breakfast which was fine, except for the sour and uncaring person who refused to believe the coffee machine wasn’t working. Other staff verified it was not and tried to fix things. This person also hollered at us for sitting at an empty table. Due to her, we chose not to have breakfast there again. This is OK for the price, but I would not return.

We hopped over to Amsterdam to meet my sister and her partner who were heading back to West Australia from Amsterdam. La Casa was a brilliant choice as the location, decor, staff, rooms, bars and restaurant were all top notch. It was truly a revelation and would recommend it highly!

Lovely hotel. Clean, modern and friendly staff. Bed was very comfy and shower was amazing. We did breakfast one morning and found this very reasonable for the price, however it got very busy on the day we had this and we got one of the last tables. Located 5 minute walk from the Amstel metro, therfore great links to the rest of the city. My only negative was the temperature of the room, it had no air con only a fan, and the room got hot, i wouldn't want to visit in the summer.

no human side... I crossed France and Belgium with 24 hours where I did not sleep, I exceptionally asked to enter the room at 1:30 p.m. instead of 3 p.m. and I have only had refusals I find it shameful I will never set foot in this hotel again because the business side comes before the human side, I find myself sleeping on the sofa at the entrance I am ashamed

When we arrived at the hotel our room was not ready but the staff were very helpful especially Alessandra. They upgraded our room and gave us the keys within 15 minutes which we were very grateful for. They also checked in with us twice over our stay apologising again and checking if our room was ok. The room was excellent, clean and spacious. Every staff member we met were friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is an under five minute walk to Amstel station with very regular metros to the city centre. I would happily stay here again if I returned to Amsterdam.

We were in Amsterdam as part of a European road trip and really didn't know much about the layout or how to get around the city. That changed after we got to the hotel. The front desk staff were great and took a lot of time to go through a map of the city with us as qell as their recommendations of what to see and eat while we were there. The room was spacious and clean and featured a fantastic view of the city. It was a decent walk to the historical sites (~25-30 minutes), but Amsterdam is bike less and Uber was real easy to get into the city. Highly recommend staying here if you have the chance
