Good service, very nice, great location. Comfy room, not too small. Near the hotel lots of resturants and bars We really liked it, there is a great resturant in tje hotel, fine dining A tram station in front of the hotel but almost no,need cause its so close to the center and the dam square
The staff here was incredible! They were genuine and accommodating. The front desk people went beyond all expectations. The sous chef/bartender was attentive and personable. The wine selection was extensive and the coffee delicious. The bed was comfortable and the shower was wonderful. So happy to have found this hotel!
The Albus hotel was a lovely experience, the staff were super friendly and helpful with recommendations. Overall they made our stay in Amsterdam lovely from the start. It’s in a great location and very easy to get to and very close to great attractions. I would highly recommend!!
Amazing staff! Central located hotel, with a very welcoming lobby. Reception offered drinks and brought us to our room, presented and explained the room amenities and advised great recommendations. Breakfast is intercontinental and they offer special requests like scrambled eggs and even mimosa or champagne if you request, for a charge of course .
Just stayed for 3 nights at The Albus The staff are the friendliest and most helpful that we have come across anywhere. They were all extremely professional and knowledgeable. The room was small but had everything we needed We was in room 507 at the back of hotel and very very quiet Hotel In fantastic location We came on Eurostar and got Tube number 24 straight to the Hotel The Staff booked us the Windmill trip which was 5 hours long and well worth doing Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel and will certainly stay again when we return to Amsterdam
We stayed in the Albus over Christmas 2022. Now firstly let me say that the hotel location is great and the room was lovely and clean. We had booked a premium room, and the room was a nice size, but the bed was made up of two single beds pushed together. Now of course we’ve had this before, but they had dressed the bed with single sheets too, so we were separate in bed. Cuddling was impossible as one of us would end up falling between the two beds. So If you’re going for a romantic break it isn’t ideal. We also selected this hotel as we noticed there was a bar. The bar was very small and located in the lobby so there was no atmosphere and very few seats. One evening we came in and sat at the bar but were told that we couldn’t have any of the premium spirits as they were being used by a private party in the restaurant. So there were two bottles we could choose from, and neither were what we wanted. Finally the other small issue was that our room was located on the 6th floor (I think from memory). Every morning we were woken between 8.30-9am by the cleaners chatting loudly outside our door. Very loudly. It was as if they were in our room. They congregated and chatted for at least 30 mins every morning. We realised that the linen cupboard was on our floor so presumed it had something to do with this, but again when you’re on holiday you want to relax and every morning we were wide awake by 9am. The hotel did request feedback from us following our visit, and after raising these issues we have not been contacted since. So all in all, clean hotel in great location but some improvements could be made. I don’t think we’d choose to stay here again.…
First time visitor to Amsterdam. Hotel was centrally located, good size room and en suite. Breakfast had an excellent choice and staff were very helpful and friendly. Reception team made some good recommendations and helped book tickets for museums, etc.
Great location, clean modern room, soft bed, good big shower and a diverse breakfast! Was wondering if it was sound proof enough but I had a great night sleep. In the city centre it was busy, and at the hotel it was calm and relaxed, great contrast and wonderful how the hotel accomplish this vibe middle in the hart of the city! Really enjoyed staying here!
My partner and I stayed at the Albus for a three night mini break. We had been recommended the hotel by family members who had stayed there previously. We were very impressed with the location, right in the city centre, walking distance to the old town, Heineken Experience and plenty of restaurants in Rembrandtplein. There is also a tram stop right outside the hotel (number 24) which takes you to the central station. The hotel was nice, we had booked directly so got a welcome drinks and didn’t have to check out until 2pm on the day of our departure. The hotel’s decor is quirky, our room was good although I felt it could have been a little cleaner in places, for example the floor wasn’t very clean. There also wasn’t a lot of storage other than one wardrobe and there weren’t many plugs. We paid for breakfast which we enjoyed (both cooked and pastries), although the selection isn’t that extensive.…
So many problems. Here they all are. 1. The hotel overbooked and didn’t have the suite that we booked and prepaid for. Prepaid rooms should be held for the people who prepaid them! They “upgraded” us to some connecting family room. But the room amenities are worse than the suites. I can attest to this because the suite my other family members are in have nicer amenities. 2. The shower floods the ENTIRE bathroom because they didn’t build a door or an edge to the shower. It turns into a wading pool in the entire bathroom and it’s pretty disgusting. Who wants to slosh around the bathroom while they use the toilet or brush their teeth? The front desk was alerted and the next day the problem was NOT fixed. They said that “they couldn’t get into the room and that we were not there when they knocked”. Am I supposed to sit around the hotel room the entire day waiting for the maintenance to come????? This is supposed to be a holiday, and I can’t even take a shower because the entire bathroom turns into a gross wading pool. The cleaning staff did have a key that worked as the room was cleaned when we got back. So it’s complete BS that they “couldn’t get into the room” 3. The staff needs major improvement. When I mentioned the shower issue to the morning manager, he just shrugged me off and said sure, he would look into it. See number 2 above. Obviously that did not happen. A bit warning for the small queen rooms. Those are small, like really small. There is barely any space between the bed and wall, which is the walkway to the bathroom. I am not a large person and I have to turn sideways to shimmy through to get to the bathroom in that room. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone, but should one still stay at the Albus, be aware of the smallest room class. The only small bright spot is the night manager Raymond. He tries to make things better, but he’s pushing a boulder up an icy hill by himself.…
