This was a return visit.
It seems to us that it has been renovated over the past few years.
It has many positive features but the most important asset is the staff.
I refer especially to those in reception.
Both ladies and gentlemen.
I stayed here as part of a weekend trip to Amsterdam with friends so the requirements for the accommodation were limited - well located, reasonable cost and in decent condition. We wanted a bed and we got a bed. The location is decent, everything is...More
From the main museums bus stop, this small hotel is a 8 minute brisk walk away, situated on left in a quiet street. Modern interior, recently tastefully re-decorated, small, room on attic/5th floor, including bathroom/wet room. Friendly staff. Breakfast was modest, ample continental, but no...More
I was assured after twice being woken up by a very persistent (false)fire alarm, that atleast the alarm does work, lol. Not lol, because as a result, the heat has turned off in the hotel so be assured, that does not work.

Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping
destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.

Regarding transportation to and from the airport, we used Bus#197 which is easily caught right outside the airport doors. It drops you off about a 7 minute walk from the hotel (about 5 blocks). Very convenient.
