actually my stay in the hotel was perfect , i strongly recommend the hotel, starting from the staff are very friendly and helpful especially receptionist in morning shift he was very friendly , he guided us for many of activity. location was perfect and close to all the sightseeing.
The hotel we booked was not suitable, and with the help of Rob from Swissotel he totally saved our weekend which was my husbands 60th Birthday. From the moment we turned up at 8.30 am Rob could not have been more helpful, he already had one of our rooms ready which we were so grateful for, we dropped of our suitcases and they had a menu for pillows to suit everyone (how cool was that) He gave us a Map with directions to The Anne Frank House . The Location was amazing, completely in the centre of everything. We could see the Central Station from the Hotel (straight 5 mins walk). Canal tour boat (3 mins). Anne Frank House (10 mins walk) Lovely Church & Red Light District minutes away. Breakfast was lovely, but the best thing by far was Rob and Elisa as they are so efficient kind and seem to enjoy helping (i'm a little needy forgot my room number once, breakfast time once and Key once) but each time they smiled and helped me. 100% would recommend this hotel for Staff, Hotel, Value and Location. Will definitely be back. Hazel Lappin…
Without a doubt the best choice we could have made. The hotel was perfect in all respects - the location is right on Dam Square, in a crowded area, with many restaurants and shops (we did some shopping, went up to the room to put our bags and went back down), 7 minutes walk from the central train station (coming from the airport). Large and spacious rooms, modern renovated and new. Heating the towels was a lot of fun and not obvious. Lovely and welcoming staff. Without a doubt we will only return to this hotel again.
I can't say enough about this property. I interacted with a number of staff and they were all so kind and helpful. The room was nicely appointed and the bed was incredibly comfortable ! There were nice amenities in the bathroom. The location of this property is excellent ! You step out and your in the middle of everything. There is a tram stop in front of the hotel which is very convenient. I look forward to my stay next year. Thank you again to each and every staff member !
Well placed but apart from that, the hotel itself is Nothing special.. It's a 4*star hotel only when it comes to the price... Needs renovation.. Very basic breakfast..rooms are spacious but very modest!
Could not fault this hotel or the staff that work There This hotel is in the perfect location and the food and decor are first class. the thing that made this hotel however was the reception staff. we arrived in Amsterdam at 8:30 and was not expecting a room to be ready. the man behind the desk did every thing he could to get us a room and managed to get us one for 11am. when we arrived back he remembered us by name and everything was dealt with quickly and efficiently. every time we had a query he remembered us and our room number and we were even able to check out an hour later which was no problem at all. I highly recommend this hotel and will be coming back.
This hotel, the staff, rooms, and overall atmosphere are truly what hotels should aspire to after remaking themselves after the pandemic and its minimalism. Wonderful hotel. Check in early after flight from US easy, check out late waiting on train no problem. Great room! Comfortable suite overlooking Dam square and boulevard but still very quiet. All amenities, including plenty of plugs. Bathroom beautiful with both shower and tub and lots of room. Right in the middle of old town neighborhoods and five minute walk to train station. Will return!
The hotel was clean and the location is close to everything. I don’t expect much in a hotel and I don’t usually make a fuss of little things. However I didn’t have a good experience for my first and last day at this hotel. Stayed for 3 nights. The first day we arrived really early, before 9am. The lady at the reception was nice enough. I understand check in is not until 3pm. We left our luggage and came back at 1:00pm. The lady at the reception said our room has been vacated and shouldn’t take long. Left again and came back around 1:30pm. While we were there we saw a number of newly arrived guests getting their rooms immediately. By 2:30pm, I was so annoyed already because those who came in later than us have been getting their rooms as soon as they arrived. Spoke to the lady again and said she’ll just switch us to another room. And this was around 2:45pm. So, in the end we didn’t get the premium twin room with a view that we were supposed to have even though we’ve spent so much time waiting at the hotel already. I don’t even care about the type of room, if they could have switch us earlier, I would have been happy to get any room after a 17 hour flight! Also as accor member, the hotels I’ve stayed in usually give us welcome drinks. I don’t care about the drinks. I would have appreciated the offer though. I don’t like playing the discrimination card but that’s how I felt on my first day here. On our last day, I was already feeling mellow and would have just let that one experience go. However, in the restaurant around 8am while waiting for my husband to finish breakfast, I got a facetime call from my 4 year old nephew. There were no other guest in the restaurant apart from us. You can imagine how a 4 yr old boy gets excited about everything. I admit I forgot where I am but we weren’t shouting or anything. Just a normal convo with a little bit of excitement talking to a child, (I don’t have a booming voice, I’m a small asian woman.) The gentleman from the hotel suddenly appeared (manager or hotel officer dressed in a suit) and told me to keep it down. What the hell?! We were sitting in a corner, the restaurant is practically empty so I guess he was standing next to us to be able to hear me. But if I were a mum, would you have shush a mother speaking to a 4 year old child in a restaurant? That’s how we were talking. Or what if I’m dressed like a businessman and got a very important business call, would you have shush me? It’s not a church! So yes, I felt awful and discriminated again! If they want quiet in the restaurant, please put an “observe silence”! It’s not a fancy restaurant, I thought it has a casual vibe to it so it was ok to talk and it was empty. So that is how I will remember this hotel. Will I stay again? Probably not and they probably won’t even care.…
We usually stay in this hotel when we (often) visit Amsterdam. It is perfectly located in walking distance from Central train station and literally in the heart of downtown for sightseeing and shopping. The staff is always happy to fulfil your requirements and full of kindness. I have stayed in many different hotels in Amsterdam, but I can only suggest this Swissotel if you want to have an unforgettable stay and enjoy all attractions of this vivid city.
It was our first time in Amsterdam, and we stayed at Swissôtel Amsterdam during our 4days 3 nights stay. The hotel is located near the central station perhaps about 8-10 mins walk, it is super convenient to move around and you can walk along the streets to experience the beauty of the city. The room was fabulous, clean and spacious. The counter staffs are welcoming and very helpful. Kudos to Steven and Mark Kels for your great assistance during our stay. We will definitely book this hotel again in our next visit to Amsterdam.
