Me and my partner stayed here during 25th November 2019 for a couple of nights.
We arrived early at the hotel, the reception lady was really nice and she advised to our surprise that our room was already ready which was great bonus.
On arrival to the room it was a tad smaller than expected, but it was clean and was very modern so that didn’t worry us at all. It may be a tight squeeze if your got a lot of suitcases though.
The bed was very comfortable and there was a tv on the wall which even hosted some British Tv channels although we won’t there to sit in the hotel room.
The room came with a small coffee machine and kettle for people who need there early wake up call. There is a small fridge too to store any drinks you buy which is handy (there is a Lidl’s around the corner which is pretty convenient)
The bathroom was very clean it came with small packs of shampoo/conditioner and body lotion. There is also a hairdryer in the room.
I really couldn’t fault the hotel. We also hired our bikes from the hotel for the day which made getting too locations really convenient and even quicker.
The location is very close to the rijksmuseum and is about a 30 min walk into the centre which isn’t too bad providing you don’t mind exploring on foot around the streets of Amsterdam.
The stairs are very steep in the hotel, but there is a lift which we found to be a tad slow so we always opted for the stairs.
We would definitely return to the hotel though.

We had a wonderful stay at The Ed Amsterdam! The location was super convenient to get everywhere in the heart of Amsterdam, and close to several tram lines (we walked pretty much everywhere, but used trams when we wanted to give our feet a rest). For my husband and I, the space in the standard double room was perfectly adequate. Especially considering on a trip to Amsterdam hopefully you won't be spending a lot of time in the hotel room since there's so much to do! Also, the hotel has a cute lounge space in the lobby where you can relax and hang out if you do want to spend a little more low key time there. We really appreciated the drinks and snacks that were available for purchase 24/7 in the lobby with a self-pay kiosk. We also frequently used the water bottle fill up station right in the main lobby (Amsterdam has great clean drinking water!). The only thing that could have been improved was the temperature control in the room. It was perfectly comfortable while awake, but I prefer it a bit cooler for sleeping (there is a thermostat to control the heat, but I think it was more just from the radiant heat from other rooms). But overall it was a perfect hotel for our visit and the value given the recently remodeled space, amenities, and location is hard to beat!

We’ve just returned from 3 nights at The ED Amsterdam. It came as part of an EasyJet package and we were delighted at the value for money. The Hotel is interestingly decorated and very clean. The room, although compact, was more than suitable for our needs. The bed was the most comfortable one we’ve slept in on holiday and the black out curtains ensured a restful lie in in the morning. Even though the hotel is situated on a busy toad, we had absolutely no noise pollution in our room at all. We didn’t even get woken by the cleaners in the corridor. It was probably more of a peaceful sleep than we get on our own house! There are very convenient self serve vending machines in the lobby that serve snacks and drinks (even alcohol) , which we found very useful after a long day of walking around the city. It’s about a 20 minute walk into the main centre but it’s a pleasant walk, full of shops and bars to keep you company on your journey. We would , without a doubt definitely stay here again. The staff are very pleasant and professional and ensured that we had a timely taxi to the airport at the end of our stay , of which we received a discount as we booked it through the hotel. The only negative I can think of is the size of the rooms but as I mentioned already, it had everything that we needed for our stay. Well done ED!

I do not have many negatives about this hotel. It is fresh, modern, very warm and welcoming. It is fairly big which is unusual for a hotel in amsterdam. It is very convenient as you can check yourself in and out. There was always a staff member to help if you got stuck.
There is a shop in reception with some snacks and drinks, it is convenient as it’s self service so always open but it is extremely over priced, the same bag of crisps is 3 euros cheaper at the supermarket.
In the room there is all you need, complimentary toiletries, hair dryer, fridge, safe, there is also a coffee maker with pods. Overall the room was lovely. The bed is big and comfy, I slept very well!! There is air con which is also nice although when first switched on a lot of dust shot out… maybe needs a clean. I also wish to mention the large blue cushion on the bed when we arrived was quite dirty with visible hairs… obviously this did not really impact our stay and the rest of the room was ok I feel it’s important to mention this.
The shower was lovely, powerful and hot.
There is a TV with English Channels.
The rooms are quiet and peaceful, we were not disturbed by noise.
The breakfast buffet was well presented, there was lots to choose from including pancakes, various breads/pastries, jams, Nutella, range of juice and cereals. It would have been nice to have the option of toast and some other cooked items but I appreciate this is probably a British thing!!! The orange juice was out of this world!
The breakfast was included in our stay, I’m not sure if I would have paid 15 euros per person for it, this seems too high due to it lacking it cooked options. Never the less I still enjoyed it.
The other thing I really liked is the noon check out time, it’s nice not to be rushing on your last day!
Hotel had no issue with storing our cases whilst we explored on the last day.
In terms of location, it’s ok, for the price to stay it is fine. It took us 15-20 mins to walk to everything we wanted to see. Other things may be a little further but to stay right in centre the price is just too much, therefore, I think the Ed is reasonably priced based where it is. There is obviously ample transport around as well.
TOP TIP- if needing to use a taxi service, use Uber, it’s far cheaper than anything else. To be honest though, there are far easier ways to get around Dam. Uber from airport to the Ed was 26 euros whilst a taxi picked up from outside the airport cost 46 euros!!!

My nine year old daughter and I just stayed here for a weekend. The hotel was really easy to get to from the airport. the airport bus takes you to 5 mins around the corner in about 30 mins.
We had a double room which was compact but had everything we needed and as we were only using it to sleep in, was perfectly adequate. The quirky decoration of the hotel is fun and it was modern and very clean.
The toiletries provided in the bathroom were lovely and the shower was hot and just what we needed after a full day of sightseeing. The bed was very comfortable.
The hotel is in walking distance of many of Amsterdam's attractions and it is also easy to get about by tram from there. There are lots of restaurants nearby as well as take out places and bars.
There is a Covid testing place about 10-15 walk away if you need to get your QR code while you are there. Results came back in about 15 minutes.
Breakfast was nice and had a range of bread, yogurts and pancakes. There are coffee and tea making facilities in the room and a small shop in the reception area selling snacks, drinks and anything else you might have forgotten.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
My only complaint was that I found the room noisy, our room was at the front of the hotel and the traffic continued all night along with sirens and noisy motorbikes. However I live in the middle of nowhere with no noise at night so any road noise was going to be loud to me.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would choose the hotel again.

The structure is in a quiet area, well served by public means, but the center is comfortably walking on quiet streets and full of shops. The rooms are clean, bed and pillows very comfortable, I've enjoyed the possibility of having coffee at the disposal, and also the breakfast, varies wide and comfortable location. gentle and available personnel at all times! we'll definitely be back!!!!

The hotel is in a really good location and for a great price considering the high quality of the room and overall stay. I love the design of the hotel it’s so unique and there is a lovely vibe there. The reception area has lots of settees and coffee tables as well, making it look and feel a lot more homely than most hotels. The hotel is close to the Leidseplein tram stop where you can get to loads of places around the city from, but they are all also in walking distance (we spent the first day walking everywhere before we discovered how easy the trams are to use). The hotel is also close to shops, cafes, restaurants, coffeeshops, and also Vondelpark, which I think is a must-visit in Amsterdam, especially if it’s sunny.
We were on the top floor of the hotel, and the room was bigger than expected based on past reviews and photos, with a large bed that was very comfortable, with big pillows. The room and bathroom were also very modern and included everything we needed; hairdryer, towels, toilet roll, shower gel, shampoo etc. there is also a mini fridge, coffee machine and a safe.
The breakfast was included with the price of the hotel and included loads of options including boiled eggs, different cakes, pastries and breads, different granolas, fruit, pancakes, yogurts, etc! You could also choose from different coffees/ teas to make yourself with the coffee machine, which was all included with breakfast. The staff were all friendly and helpful and the service was great. We had no issues whatsoever, we would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again!

We booked the Ed after spotting it on Booking.com ideally I was looking for a hotel close to the train station but I’m pleased we didn’t because the Ed it a beautiful hotel perfectly located near Vondelpark and the buzzing Leidseplein square.
The Ed is absolutely spotlessly clean with a very quirky Amsterdam vibe, the rooms are very well equipped what also includes a mini fridge what I think is essential, the rooms a little small but that’s the standard in Amsterdam.
The staff are an absolute credit to the Hotel and couldn’t do enough for you, we liked it that much we’ve booked again for our anniversary in March.
Top work guys.

From start to finish we thoroughly enjoyed our time at The Ed Hotel (3 nights).
The transport infrastructure in Amsterdam is simple and highly efficient so overlay the Ed Hotel and you have extreme efficiency and manoeuvrability for getting out, sightseeing and quick returns if shopping as you do not really want to be lugging bags of shopping around museums or restaurants.
Top credit to the music as the playlist beamed around the Bose speakers (including the lift) was was fresh, innovative and really good mood setting in a most positive way.
A lot of thought has been poured into the design and layout which added to the whole experience.
We dropped our bags off both before and after checking in as we arrived early and wished to do more shopping upon check out which was not a problem to store in a dedicated secure room by very friendly staff.
Breakfast was really nice too.
We will return, and stay at the Ed!
Kind regards

I have just come back from The ED.
I normally book cheaper hotels but the hotels were very far and would means public transport to go into central. Then you need factor in cost and travel time.
So I took the plunge and picked this one and Im glad I did.
We caught the 397 airport bus and it took about 30m @6.5 euros , just scan your debit card.
The location is ideal it’s 5 mins to the main trams to central dam square or a casual 20mins . We walked there all the time.
Highly recommended Albert Cuypmarkt for stroppwaffles and kibbelkng and Vlaams Friteshuis Vleminckx for fries.
As for the hotel, it’s clean, friendly and great location.
The air con can get noisy and breakfast was poor but I knew if this before I booked. The shower gel is screwed in and placed very high which is not good for short people. Also no shower shelf to put personal products on.
