Stayed here for 2 nights as going to a gig. On arrival staff were pleasant enough and botel was spotless. Room was adequate very small but was expecting that anyway! Bed was really hard and hurt my back but there was heating in the room...More
The Boatel is moored on the north side of the IJ river; but it's just a 15 minute free ferry ride across to Centraal Station. The area is still semi-industrial, so there is not much to see or do; just a restaurant or two.

Basically it is very easy even with luggage.
Can't answer about taxi as we used the train from airport which was extremly easy and take u straight to where u get the boat to the hotel, from the botel to dam square is about 20 min walk once ur off the boat at central
