Four of us oldies enjoyed a weekend break at the Botel, Fri-Mon. Reception staff lovely and welcoming, a great first impression when we arrived weary from long trek from airport! Schippoel airport huge but we took our time and asked if required and not sure. Train to Amsterdam Central, clean, fast with no problems, 11 euros for two one-way. Found free ferry at pier 3 behind Central Station, again a bit of a trek. 15 mins and landed with Botel entrance about 400 metres from landing pier. Our rooms were opposite each other on same floor, with lift available. Stairs inside boat are very steep! Rooms were spotless and a credit to domestic staff, enough sockets to charge phones and tablets, and use hairdryer. Bonus was that windows opened, allowing air to circulate, and for us to feed moorhens ....so many different birds around boat....terns, seagulls, swans, moorhens, crested grebes and young, sparrows, also a lone heron visited....for us bird lovers was great! Beds were so comfortable, memory foam mattresses.....our old bones loved them...only drawback for this shorty was the frame encasing mattress...was a battle to get over the edge of this to get out of bed! Bathroom had a cracked sink, and toilet very close to sink due to space constraints. Lack of local eateries which was restricting but bar served lovely pizzas! Pollux was closed and other 2 places served fish dishes! Chips and mayo the go to snack! We survived! Well done Botel!

The title said it, the beds are extremely comfortable. Overall, what the hotel offers in relation to its cost is very good. But, I would recommend to improve the bathrooms as they are very old and the water doesn’t run so smoothly from the shower.
