Four of us stayed at Hotel Fita for 4 nights at the beginning of September. Like other reviews, we had a warm welcome, comfortable room and delicious breakfast. The location can't be beat. It's close to museums and the tram. It's a short walk to...More
The location of the hotel is ideal, its close to several top notch museums and a first rate shopping district. The tram stop is about 1.5 blocks from the front door of the hotel and easy to catch.

This small hotel is on a quiet street, a block from the VanGogh Museum and close to many shops and restaurants. The hosts are terrific and helpful, and make you feel welcome. There is a full grocery a couple of blocks, or less, away. The...More
Hotel Fita was selected for a 2 day stay in September 2012, the purpose of the visit being to attend a business conference at the Amsterdam Hilton. Hotel Fita offered an attractive alternative an approximately half the cost. It did not disappoint.

Great location. Room was fine. Breakfast good. Did not feel totally comfortable and was glad to check out. Friendly to a point but uptight atmosphere One example is that we received a call at three minutes past checkout time to remind us to check out.

Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping
destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.

I'm seeing what's called a "large twin" room on their website. It looks like two twin beds pushed side by side. If that's not acceptable, email the hotel. They are very helpful and will let you know for sure what is available. Fita is a great choice if it has the type of room you are looking for.
