Nice little hotel, my room was small but beautiful, my husband and I had to organize our luggage since we had two suitcases and there was place only for one. Air conditioning, TV , free wifi. Clean room beautiful decor, nice typical bathroom , showers never are closed completely , so you have to be careful not to get all...

I am writing this review considering that this is a 3 star hotel, keeping that in mind I was very satisfied with Hotel Aalders. This is a small Hotel located in what seemed to be a pair of residential house(s) in the past. There is some construction/pavement on the street this Hotel is located, so this may be an inconvinience...

Stayed for four nights. On the plus side - as everyone says - great location in the museum quarter. It's a five minute walk to the edge of the city centre, with bars and shops aplenty. The trams stop at the end of the road, so you can get to Dam Square in about 15-20 minutes if you don't want...

Nice hotel near the Museum district--not a lot of restaurants/bars nearby, but an easy walk away. Rooms are VERY small (we had 30 or 31), but clean, quiet and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. Breakfast was quite good. Easy trip on bus to airport and tram to train station.

To start with the positives, it's located close to the museums and the room was clean. However, the walls are paper thin and you can hear every word said in the neighbouring room. We stayed for four nights and didn't get a single good night's sleep, which makes it difficult to enjoy the rest of your time in the city....

Excellent Hotel.Staff were all very helpful and friendly :-) We stayed in what was entitled a 'small double room' on the first floor...I was pleasantly surprised, it was bigger than I expected...wouldn't of called it small :-)Room was very clean and the chambermaid did an excellent job during our stay. Breakfast was in my opinion was good with a nice...

We are enjoying are stay. Triple room is spacious and comfortable. Bathroom appears to be new. Only suggestion I would make is some hooks in the bathroom to hang up clothes. Location is perfect. Just a few minutes away from museums and several tram stops.

I had a one-night pit-stop in Amsterdam on the way home from South Africa. I wanted to stay in the Museumplein area in order to visit the Rijksmuseum. Hotel Aalders was a great choice for my plans. The building is older and charming, the room was comfortable for a weary traveler, and the location is great if you want to...

we are a family of 6 and booked 2 rooms that were on different floors. The rooms looked very bare with no decoration but were clean. Breakfast was good. The hotel is a 20min bus trip from the aeroport (bus 97) and is very easy to reach. I pleasantly discovered that it is right next to the Rikjmuseum and the...

A hotel with the charm and big rooms of an older building yet with a decent, modern bathroom. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The staff were welcoming and helpful. We were glad to see coffee and tea-making facilities and a laundry service. We were able to purchase a pre-dinner drink and take it to our room. It is in...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
