Very nice and friendly staff. Ok hotel and cool theme. Good and safe system for roomkeys. The price was a bit high cause it was a really weird room. Not the cleanest bathroom. Good and cheap stay, but would not reccommend it for romatic getaways. Great location. Would not be staying there again I think. The TV was super small...

Stayed in the suite for 2 nights and found it to be small but comfortable. It contained everything needed for our stay and in the cold weather the radiators were more than up to the task. The reception staff were all welcoming, friendly and helpful. The room and hotel were clean and interesting with all the quirky items and decor....

We stayed in this little gem for a short midweek stay in early November. What a lovely hotel! It is modelled on trains and all things railway, and it is really well presented. Our bedroom was at the front, with adequate space, with an en suite bathroom, nice powerful shower. The breakfast room is like a train dining carriage, and...

Easy to find hotel after travelling by train from Schipol Airport. Checking in was quick and easy. Single rooms are to the back of the hotel. I asked to change my room due to a only having a high window and was immediately shown another room by a member of staff which I enjoyed for 3 nights. The room was...

We were in Amsterdam at the end of october, it was the first time in this city and we chose this hotel because it is near central station and dam place. It is a good hotel, clean and with kind persons at the reception. There's a supermarket right near the hotel if you need something and lot of places were...

I have stayed at the A train hotel many times over the years and have never been disappointed, it is situated in a good location close to central station and dam square, I always enjoyed the train style breakfast room with its walls clad with train memorabilia and history, rooms are clean and modern, we always had rooms facing central...

Let's start with the positves - the location is excellent and they had a 4 bed room / apartment for my family of 4. Unfortunetly my daughter was woken by a mouse in our room in the middle of the night which resulted in a sleepless night for my family and I. In the morning, anxious to give the hotel...

Dear Simonthelocal, First of all we are sorry you were disappointed in our hotel. The A-Train Hotel was completely renovated in 2002 as a unique 3 star hotel. We have two buildings one from 1820 and the other one from late 1600. You're complaint, that you had a mouse in your room, is unfortunately true. It was most likely a...

Great little hotel, very quirky with all it's train memorabilia. Extremely friendly and helpful staff, used their computer and printer free of charge, to check in on line and print boarding passes! Excellent location, short walk from the Central station for onwards travel to the airport, and in the centre for bars and shops. Big thumbs up! The only downside...

Staying in Centrum

Neighbourhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
