Nestled in a serene spot near parks and public transport, the location is a tranquil haven yet remains conveniently close to city attractions.

Detailed Reviews
Hotel's Favourite
It is with great pleasure to express my utmost appreciation for the spectacular Pillows Hotel in the Netherlands. My partner and I were blessed to spend a week at this luxurious establishment, where we celebrated our engagement in style.
From the moment we set foot in the hotel, we were greeted by an exceptional team of staff members who went above and beyond to ensure that our every need was met. The concierge team, comprising of Joeki, Michael, Darin, and Joan, were a veritable fount of knowledge, always on hand to offer their invaluable assistance and recommendations.
One of the highlights of our stay was undoubtedly the sumptuous breakfast buffet at the restaurant. Every morning, we were treated to a veritable feast, masterfully prepared by the talented chefs. And of course, we cannot forget the lovely Bita and Francesca, who served us with the utmost grace and charm, going out of their way to make us feel at home.
Our evenings were equally delightful, thanks to the enchanting VanOost Restaurant. The restaurant's resident gin specialist, Luca, was a true delight, conjuring up divine mocktails and cocktails that were simply out of this world. And his charming demeanor and genteel manners were the cherry on top of an already perfect evening.
However, what truly set Pillows Hotel apart was the exemplary service provided by Carles Hervas, the guest relations manager. Carles proved to be a veritable maestro, seamlessly curating every aspect of our engagement celebration with precision and care. From makeup artists to photographers and activity recommendations, Carle left no stone unturned, ensuring that our special day was nothing short of perfect.
In closing, I would wholeheartedly recommend Pillows Hotel to anyone seeking an exceptional travel experience in the Netherlands. With its exceptional staff, luxurious amenities, and personalized approach, this hotel is the epitome of class and refinement. We will cherish our memories of this magnificent hotel for years to come.

My wife and I lived in Amsterdam on the other side of the Oosterpark for the past 5 years, and slowly watched the redevelopment of this building with great curiosity.
When we were searching for somewhere to stay to celebrate our 10th anniversary, the Pillows hotel was top of the list. We stayed just one night, and ate at the exquisite "Van Oost" restaurant on the first floor of the hotel.
Every aspect of our stay was exquisite. We were greeted warmly upon arrival, our bags were whisked away and we were handed some complimentary bubbles. Our room was exceptionally well appointed, bed was extremely comfortable, and the view of the Oosterpark in the snow was a lovely plus. The overall design and quality of finish in this historic building was really cool to see overall.
After the delicious taster menu at Van Oost it was super to be able to collapse immediately into our room.
The next morning's breakfast was great too, although maybe a little pricey. We took the a la carte route, where I had french toast and my wife the chia pudding. Both dishes and the coffees were also great.
Highly recommended overall and we will be back when we have another good excuse!

This hotel provided excellent service. The toiletries were all made in Fance and Italy, they were high quality. The interior design was a mix between the old world and the modern world which Europe is best known for. The dining experience was pleasant and sophisticated. Their private limo driver was fit to drive James Bond around town! Attention to detail was clearly accomplished. We would return to this property.

We had the pleasure of staying one night at this beautiful hotel last week. Despite being recently opened, it made us feel like they have been an established luxury hotel for decades. The room was gorgeously designed with a view on the Oosterpark, the bed and pillows were out of this world and ensured a good night's rest after a delicious meal in Pillow's fine dining restaurant (Van Oost).
We enjoyed a 6 course meal at Van Oost including a pairing of wine, beer and sake. The food was fantastic, like the rest of the hotel, the restaurant is beautifully designed and oozes class.
Staff was kind, helpful and went the extra mile to make sure we wouldn't forget this stay. All in all, would highly recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to stay in central Amsterdam and who is willing to spend a bit more. If you are that person and you want to make sure your stay is unforgettable, I recommend staying at Pillows!

Although only open for three weeks the hotel has certainly hit the ground running. The very young and numerous staff are always smiling, giving the impression that nothing is too much trouble. The building is an old red-brick university building with typical early 20th century Dutch public building decor of colourful tiles. These have been retained in many of the corridors and staircases but are offset by the soft, warm colours and fabrics of the rooms and guest lounge. The beds are very comfortable with their dazzlingly white linen and seductive pillows. Although not in the town centre the hotel is ideally situated for trams and for the park directly behind and the zoo across the road. The hotel has two excellent restaurants and a cozy, dimly lit cellar bar presided over by the Dutch cocktail champion. There is also a fitness centre and facilities for business meetings. In better weather there are two terraces on the ground floor overlooking the park and one on the roof giving views over the city. We would certainly recommend the Maurits at the Park.

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent 4-night stay at this hotel. It is conveniently located outside the central area and next to the large and delightful Oosterpark. Short tram trips to the major sights are possible. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Our room was attractive and comfortable. Like most hotel rooms in Amsterdam it was a little on the small side but still featured, in addition to the twin beds, two small chairs and a table. The high ceilings in this part of the hotel helped to create a feeling a space. The hotel’s lounge (called “The Living”) was a haven for those who, like us, are content to spend some time reading quietly. Free coffees and teas and cookies are available, as are some English- and Dutch-language books. Breakfasts are served in the elegant informal restaurant and are simply superb. Rather than having a buffet, the concept is to provide a Continental style breakfast at your table which may be supplemented by cakes and further dishes, some of which cost extra. The pistachio cakes are absolutely sublime! We had dinner in the restaurant on a couple of occasions and the food was of high quality and delicious.

I never write reviews, but Pillows deserves a fabulous mention. It was wonderful. No other place will treat you as well and accommodate your every need. I really can't say enough great things. The room was beautiful and spacious. The "casual" restaurant, Spring, was like eating at a Michelin star restaurant - fantastic. The bar is incredible with wonderful bartenders that hospitable and talented cocktail makers. I enjoyed the location some have said it is a bit far, but I though it was perfect - the tram runs right outside and you are far from the crowds and tourists.
They took such great care of us. We went to London following Amsterdam and though our London hotel was nice, we were too spoiled by Pillows to fully enjoy it.
Kudos and thank you for a wonderful time!

Mostly good things to report on the Pillows Grand Boutique Hotel. We were welcomed about 10AM after a flight from the US. The staff realized that our strong preference would be to be given access to our room. After a lovely check-in and conversation in the "lounge", we were given a room. The way they presented it to us, I think they expected us to complain, because they said "if you don't find it acceptable, we can look for something else". Since we were desperate for a room, we accepted the room they showed us to, even though it only had skylights (no view) and was generally small and an awkward layout. As we unpacked, we got a call from the front desk that they had an upgraded room, so we said okay. This had a marginal view but was still very small. Not sure if it was much of an upgrade. Again, looking to unpack and get some rest, we accepted the room.
The staff and concierge were wonderful. We also enjoyed the bar, Fitz' Speakeasy (although no food offerings at all), and dinner at the restaurant one of the nights. We were surprised that the lobby lounge didn't have more of a food offering. Coffee/Latte on demand, some chocolates and cookies (that didn't change) were offered, but nothing that seemed "freshly made". Also, although breakfast was included, it was simply one breakfast item off the menu. If you wanted something additional (like bacon or avacado on the side), the restaurant wanted to charge for the full menu (which allows for anything), rather than an additional 4 or 6 euro for that item. It was a little confusing and limiting.
So, two main concerns to consider before booking here. The location is absolutely a 20-30 minute walk from anything touristy. That may be great for some, but if you're like most visitors to Amsterdam, you'll be walking for distances or taking the tram (located a block from the hotel) to get to the attractions you want to see. The second, as discussed already is the small size of many rooms. If you need more than 250 sq ft, you should book a suite. Both of those are obvious from their website, so it's not that I was disappointed, but you should be aware.

We recently had a marvellous stay at the Pillows Maurits Hotel At The Park. The staff there are amazing and very helpful. We stayed in a larger suite which was clean, comfortable and whisper quiet. They also had very good quality toiletriies provided in the room. The room had a great layout and a pretty view of the park and the bed was so comfie. We slept really well. The location was away from the main city area of Dam Square so it was a in quieter part of Amsterdam which meant a tram ride away to where most of the action was. Tram station was very close by so it was not a major issue. Luxury accomodation seems to be very expensive in Amsterdam especially for larger rooms so ‘The Pillows’ is better value than the other 5 star hotels I had looked at. I would stay there again if in Amsterdam.

We had a great weekend stay at Pillows Grand Boutique Hotel Maurits at The Park. Elmar De Beer the DOFB has done a great job with the F&B team. His staff are skilful, very engaging and explain every food & drink item with passion. The food has high quality ingredients, delicious and the chef made great effort in every food presentation. The ambience of the restaurant is warm and cosy.
The room decor is modern and minimalist look but you can find the amenities and the full minibar set up in the closet. The ceiling is really high comparing to the typical modern hotel. Being an Asian, the mirror in the bathroom and the sink is slightly on high side but considering the Dutch are typical tall people, this probably the normal height setting. The room is clean and the housekeeping clean the room daily. All amenities is replenished accordingly.
The hotel has easy access to the park and tram station to the Amsterdam Centraal is only 2 minutes walk from the hotel. The hotel is situated away from the tourist area but only 10 minutes away by tram to the Centraal.
I love how fresh and clean the hotel is and the staff are amazing. Highly recommended.
