If you are looking for an overnight stay with reasonable rate (not exactly cheap), this may be you are looking for. We have arrived about 30 minutes earlier, there was a woman in a reception with strong make-up and constantly on her iPhone FaceTime with someone else instead of the customers. We were hoping if we could check-in a bit...

The room was very small, bathroom is dirty, also room was not clean enough. Only the location is good, you don't need to use bus or trams, everything is near. The best thing was breakfast (if you get up early ofcourse:))

The only undisputed positive of the hotel is its location. It is right next to the Van Gogh Museum and Rijksmuseum, only a 15 minute walk to the Dam Square, and has a supermarket across the main road. However, this is where the positives end. To put it simply, our three night stay at the hotel was awful. When we...

Rooms are worn-out and broken - and don't look like the photos at the website. I stayed four days and there were two water leakages. When I complained that my room door was open, the receptionist told me to check out, if I don't like the hotel. Later the receptionist came into my room without my permission while I was...

After reading the bad reviews, we didn't know what to expect but when we got there we realised the hotel was absolutely fine! The beds were freshly made and there was no sign of bed bugs or stains that we had read from reviews. The shower was good and we had fresh towels everyday. The tram stop was a 30...

rooms haven't been updated since the 1800s literally!! bathroom was disgusting, toilet hadn't even been cleaned before we arrived!! the sink was literally next to the bed and not in the bathroom and it was so dirty, the duvet hadn't even been washed it has lipstick marks all over our bed!! it is most defiantly well overpriced for what you...

Awful. Don't stay here. Shocking accommodation. Dirty flooring, stains on the carpets. A tired and dirty bathroom from many years ago. A lift with graffiti on. The lift has a note on the door telling you what to do if the lift stops. All the paint has flaked off the banister! Decoration is appalling. It wasn't that cheap either. We...

+ Location (near parks and shops - safe location) + 24h reception - VERY small rooms (the room was about 8 sq.m and the bed was almost single evem if we were two persons) - Expensive for that quality of rooms - Noisy at nights (noises from other rooms)

Stayed for 4 nights with my husband. Room was small, basic and also had a small balcony, however you were not allowed smoke on it (whole hotel is non smoking). We got new towels, bins emptied and bed made everyday. Bathroom was tiny with shower and toilet (sink was in room). Shower had rust in it which didn't look great....

The room was very small, but the beds were comfortable. The room has a small toilet with shower. Simple if you do not expect more than sleeping. The reception is open 24h and it's possible to leave the luggage in a room on the departure day.

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
