This is a 1-2 star hotel at best, we paid £90 online a night to stay here and it is the pits. We was in the hotel for an Hour and just left and moved into a new hotel as it was so run down. It is a good 15 minute walk into the central area and it's in a...

Yet again we have used the Falcon Plaza Hotel, yes it needs up dating and the Wifi is a little rubbish. But the staff are friendly and helpful and have always been professional. The breakfast was basic but fresh. The area its in is up and coming. Rooms although small have always been clean and tidy, and the showers are...

Quad room, spacious with gd view. There's a hot wave while we were there but luckily there's a fan. So its not too bad. Would be better if theres air con. Location wise its okay, 10 mins walk from metro, quiet, supermarket 3 mins walk. Wifi is a bit weak. But the staff were incredible friendly and made us feel...

Went there with my sister as our first girly holiday together for her 18th birthday present. We were so impressed that we are booking out next holiday with them in November. Wonderful staff very well spoken and very polite. Daily room checks which was very reassuring. They hold your luggage for you before check in and after check out which...

First, Amsterdam is expensive in the summer, so this was the least expensive, most centrally located place. And it got the job done. My first concern is always location. I like to stay as close to the action as possible. This hotel is two stops by subway from Amsterdam Central, about a 20 minute walk, and 10-ish tram ride (I...

The room was so small shower was super small, and we think it's not so clean. Location is good, it's close to opera building. And I think we paid more than it deserves. I think there is much more good option could find in Amsterdam. So I do not recommend this hotel.

Good oriental theme like hotel. We was a group of 4 girls, so we got given a ground floor canal window view. Room was spacious and beds were comfortable but the downside was the shower head in bathroom didnt work properly. Breakfast was help yourself buffet style. Decent english breakfast of eggs, bacon, sausages, beans, bread, rolls, croissants, cereals, tea,...

The room was simplistic and slightly on the small side but it was by no means incredibly dated but perhaps could do with a bit of modernising within the bathrooms. However all was to a clean standard and that's the most important aspect for me. The bed was super comfy and the linen very soft, I would have gotten a...

Well first things first the hotel will be a good choice if you missed booking a hotel in the centrum and still want to feel the vibe. Though a lil far from the hustle bustle but it won't disappoint you with regards to the location. Now the not so good point is the room size. It is very small but...

An Ibis group hotel a little bit away from the centre of Amsterdam. But only about 10 minutes walk so being on the "fringe" of the city didn't really matter. Great shower and comfortable beds. All you can ask for including friendly staff. Definitely give the breakfast a miss (dreadful) and eat out.

Staying in Plantage & the East

Neighbourhood Profile
Plantage & the East
The eastern edge of central Amsterdam provides visitors with the chance to imagine the city that Rembrandt called home (and to tour his historic house) while shopping like the thriftiest of locals at Waterlooplein’s massive flea market, or even enjoying a craft beer beside the tallest wooden windmill in The Netherlands. This verdant, serene, and stately part of town is home to Artis Royal Zoo, one of Europe’s oldest (and still best kept) zoos, and Hortus Botanicus, one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world. It's also an ideal setting for the Dutch outpost of St Petersburg’s Hermitage.
