A very small room, with a single bed and no space for luggage. One small window on wall view. No elevator and sometimes keys didn't work. Oh I forgot to explain the check: 100€ for one night . But the hotel was clean and was also close to the station and near to Dam square (that was convenient).

This was my second time in Amsterdam having previously stayed at Hotel CC (for €59 a night). This time that hotel was booked out, as was most of Amsterdam. We decided to go for this hotel because of the location and the cheapish price (€70 a night) despite being wary because of the reviews. First of all, the location is... More

This hotel was my last resort when I didn't book a hotel in advance on a weekend. I was lucky enough to get a room due to a last minute cancellation. The room was on the top floor with no elevator. The steps were very steep and carry a heavy bag was awful. I swear I thought I was going... More

My room was on the top floor and had no heating and a window that could not close. it was -3 in November so I caught a cold which ruined my trip. Very overpriced, Rude staff. I was charged 70 euros at reception, I looked online and the same room was 40 euros. When I brought this to the attention... More

After a booking problem in another hotel, we found a room for 4 people avaiable in Continental. The staff was very friendly and hepful with us. The room was tiny (like most in Amsterdam) and had two bunkbeds with lockers. It looked more like a hostel and cleaning was average. The bathroom was considerably better then the bedroom and was... This hotel is walking distance to absolutely everything: Train station, Bar/Restaurant, Red light district, Anne Frank House, Dam Square ect. The Hotel itself was mediocre. The rooms are small (most hotel in Europe are) but my BF is 6.1ft tall and he was unable to really fit in the bathroom. I requested a private bathroom (private toilet and shower) in... More

Staying in Centrum

Neighbourhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
