This is accomodation in real need of updating. The heavy metal front door covers a smashed glass door; the corridor is dangerous with metal exposed from plaster and not seen a lick of paint for years. Our room had no door between entrance and shower/toilet; the bedroom, though bed clean and comfortable, needed the (not double galazed) windows badly cleaning...

The hotel isn't so much of a hotel it's more like an apartment room- you check in at another hotel which is on the tram lines then get on another tram to the hotel not far but not worth the walk with your bags. Make sure you get the 3day pass for transportation so worth the money as you will...

Despite reading reviews, my friends and I agreed it was good. The room was big, a bit dark and at times difficult to figure out which button was for which light. The bathroom was clean and had appropriate towels, hair dryer provided. The door to hotel is next to Prada shop so easy to find, even after a night out....

Booked by my office for a short stay, the location was great, being on the street of luxury shopping with a short walk to bars and restaurants. The room was broken, the lights didn't work, bathroom door didn't close, windows didn't have a stay to keep them half open, risking getting wet feet if it rained whilst sleeping with the...

Great location but this hotel is in serious need of repairs. It is an odd hotel with no staff we were given codes for the doors which was ok but had to make sure we never ran out of phone battery as 24th codes wet so long we would never remember them so had to keep checking the e-mail every...

Its in fact a very strange hotel, it has no staff, no reception, you get the informations on how to get in by email, a code for the front door and a code for your room. If anything goes wrong there is nobody to help you, only a telephone that you can use to call their partner hotel. I needed...

My girlfriend and I have been here for few days. The hotel is clean and comfortable. The staff is efficient and helpful. There isn't a reception, instead for the last day we could leave our luggages in the sister hotel. It is in a strategic position, near Vondelpark and near the city center.

Great location, fairly basic - you get what you pay for basically. Situated on a lovely street; although some people say they had trouble getting in, we didn't find this a problem although it can be a little fiddly finding & inputting codes when it's dark (or you've had a few) but it wasn't a drama. Beds were made every...

The hotel is basically what is left of the Prada boutique and was converted to accommodate 12 rooms; God knows how they managed to call it a boutique hotel and I don’t know how the city of Amsterdam allows such an establishment to exist! The photos for the rooms are not what they are in reality and are very deceiving...

On arrival to the hotel we were pleasantly surprised by the location (almost the Oxford street of London) however, the hotel itself was more like Peckham high street. Very small corridor and a lift that felt like it was on the verge of breaking down every time you got in it. The room was basic but liveable for the 3...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
