This hotel is bang in the centre of everything you need to see with lovely views of the canals. The staff were very friendly and helpful. However shame about the room, two single (small) beds with very ancient furniture where the the door actual fell off everything needed a good dust and polish. Shower room was of a good size...

This property is dated, smells. This property has poor wash facilities and the toilet flush had stopped working in our room. The shower was not clean and we did not use the shower. The property is dirty and needs cleaning thoroughly. Staff are kind. Please book elsewhere in Amsterdam. Lots of place to book and we paid a very high...

Stayed here with friends for a 30th birthday, for what we paid I wasn't overly impressed. There was a pair of socks and a loaf of bread left in our room and the bed was rock solid. Our friends room had cigarettes left In it. It was also extremely noisy on the first night with lots of people stood outside...

This place was in a great location but I walked out after seeing the room and found another hotel. it badly needed maintenance and the shower was really grim. I was told to write to the manager to company, three days later they have never answered my email and have not refunded my money. I've stayed in a lot of...

Picked this at random and was very pleased with it. Reasonable sized room, clean, comfortable at a good price. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Very handy for all attractions and shopping. Also within an easy walk of some really good restaurants. Breakfast very good value at €12.50. Basically all you could eat. Just a word of warning, staying in the...

The hotel is well located, being 15 min walk away from the crazy hussle and bussle of the Central Area, but still has nice bars and restaurants around the corner and lots of interesting places to see and experience within an easy walk, like the flower market and the Rijks Museum. The room we had on the Saturday night turned...

Second time we have stayed at the Amsterdam house hotel. It's perfect for a weekend break as it's close to all attractions and central Amsterdam. Room was clean and beds very comfortable. Shower floor was a bit yucky but we coped! Breakfast was also a little pricey, had to make our own eggs and bacon. For an expensive breakfast I...

We stayed at the Amsterdam House for 4 days and were very please. The Hotel is typically European , although our room was a little bigger than expected. We were so pleased to have met Chiren ( Americanized -Sharon) . She did everything for us, including carrying our luggage, fixing breakfast, and answering all of our questions. Most importantly, she...

This was the worst ever hotel we have stayed in. We booked a room for 3, with our daughter. We were squeezed into an attic room with 3 single beds which can only be described as a single room. There were open power sockets on the walls and the TV did not work and as a result we were shown...

Staying in Centrum

Neighbourhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
