We booked the small attic room with two twin beds (the trip was about me and my brother). The room was nice, spacious with two pretty windows on the rooftop. The bathroom was en suite, small but it had everything. The only downside was that the bathroom smelled really bad and we had to keep it closed during our stay....

Poor facility & over priced. We were staying in the Attic room on the top. The room is bit of smelly and the bed was not comfortable. The wall was pretty thin that we can hear your neighbor. In the morning you could hear the train passing by as well. However staff there were friendly

The employee are kind and handsome, but the hotel is pretty old, the pictures are better than reality. Very good position, close to the center and good service of public transportation. The price is absurd compared with quality. Mattresses are absolutely uncomfortable. Overall It's not a bad hotel, but it needs a lot of improvement, in particular if they apply...

Hotel position is really great. Receptionists are very kind. Rooms are clean and confortable. It's possible to rent bikes at a cheap price. I recommend it to all sort of compagnies:couples, families and friends. The breakfast is not avaiable but there is a nice bar just next to the hotel.

The worst experience at all levels! DON’T GO THERE! The description is all a lie. We were looking for a quiet room with double-glazed windows as well as as opaque curtains so that our 3 year old kid could sleep well (and so could we). The hotel praises all of this on the website. Our room was situated 6 meters...

I wanted to go somewhere else the moment I opened the door, The stairs were lethal, so steep with stains and rips and the bannisters were so loose if you needed to hang on to stop a fall they may have come away with you. The old'ish receptionist was very rude and abrupt. The rooms were not much better, the...

The room was good despite the fact that it smelled really badly from the bathroom. As soon as the door to the room was open an awful odour came. The WiFi was really good and fast. The beds was a little hard to sleep on but other than that I'm pleased with the room. It was really cheap so it's...

The Twin room was more like a single room with 2 single beds crammed in it. The bathroom had a horrible smell & the toilet was too high & i was very uncomfortable using it as I'm very short. The steepness of the stairs was very hard to get up & I felt unsafe going up & down them.

My room was very nice and clean, with a beautiful view of the street. Bad sides were the bad smell of the wc and the too small stairs. I solved the problem using a profume every times i had to use the toilette.

Staying in Plantage & the East

Neighbourhood Profile
Plantage & the East
The eastern edge of central Amsterdam provides visitors with the chance to imagine the city that Rembrandt called home (and to tour his historic house) while shopping like the thriftiest of locals at Waterlooplein’s massive flea market, or even enjoying a craft beer beside the tallest wooden windmill in The Netherlands. This verdant, serene, and stately part of town is home to Artis Royal Zoo, one of Europe’s oldest (and still best kept) zoos, and Hortus Botanicus, one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world. It's also an ideal setting for the Dutch outpost of St Petersburg’s Hermitage.
