Central venue on the Dam square, most attractions within walking distance. The hotel itself is small. Clean rooms, but tiny. No place for romance. Ideal for friends. Breakfast is O.K. The staff are kind, superfriedly, generous, and attentive. If price is an issue, I would go there again.

The smell is pizza, yes pizza because of the pizzeria in the ground floor! It's located in the city Center surrounded by pub/restaurante/coffee shops. The receptionist were helpful. The room was clean/small and decorated with old/cheap fashion style. Location 5, room 3, cleaning 4, reception 5, breakfast 4, ratio quality/price 3.... (pizza 2, yes we also tried !!!)

I stayed 2 nights as woman- solo traveller. At first felt worry due to location is just at busiest Amsterdam spot. Ruben who was in duty when I arrived was very friendly and helpful. The single room was so small but clean and quiet. I got all my basic need. We can ask for coffee maker or hairdyer. Breakfast was...

Doria hotel is located in an excellent position just of Dam Square on Daamstraat. The rooms are very small and basic and a bit drab and breakfast is basic continental with little choice. On the plus side, considering the location it is cheap. The rooms are clean and lift services most floors however there are steep steps to the reception...

Great location as it's right on Dam Square and a walk from central station. This is a hotel for tourists as it's not quite there for business needs. WiFi ok but rooms tiny and very little work space..

I stayed 2two nights at the Doria, and I could not have picked a better location, pretty much ground zero in downtown Amsterdam, the hotel is a little dated and the elevator is small, but nice clean rooms , with great staff and a great restaurant

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
