Very good localization, close to the main train station and you can do basically all the things on foot. The only thing s that I stayed in a front room, very very noisy place to be. The owner is really helpful and the the kitchen is very clean and always very organized.

Me and my girlfriend stayed in this B&B hotel, and we were happy to choose it. It's really in the center of Amsterdam, where everything happens, surrounded by a lot of restaurants and much commerce. About the room was clean, peaceful and had everything we needed it, we didn't find nothing really meaning to put as disadvantage or bad. Even...

This quaint little B&B is brilliant, Jon my husband is disabled and this place is perfect for him, Cees is wonderful, he helps at every moment, including insisting on carrying up both suitcases, he then explains everything you need and then leaves you in complete peace. I really don't want to review this place,as its a little gem and sometimes,...

I stayed here last week with my partner and all I can say is it is perfect! Brilliant location. The place has very steep stairs but we managed them no problem, it added a lot of character to it! We stayed in the loft apartment with lots of charm, loved it. The self service breakfast had everything you wanted and...

Having booked this BnB for my boyfriend an my birthdays I was after a cheap, central but also cultural feel! This place have us everything! The starting staircase is very steep, but that in itself have the feel of living in a real Amsterdam house. The loft room is rustic an full of romantic character and the self service kitchen...

First of all the location is the bomb. It is close to everything – the central train station, the canal cruise boats, the red-light district, the coffee shops – everything. It couldn’t be better than that. The B&B is located in old, original Amsterdam building. We were in the lower floor room. It was very spacious and although it is...

Good stay; excellent central location and relaxed atmosphere. We are a couple and wanted good access to the city and train station. The area outside is loud on Friday and Saturday nights; but this is what you would expect for the area.

Stayed in Feb 14 in the lower room. What I like about the B&B: 1) the location of the B&B is very central and convenient (5 - 7 min walk from Amsterdam Central Station, walking distance to RDL, Damrak, etc.). There are restaurants, pizzeria, mini-marts in near the B&B, so finding food isn't an issue. 2) there is a self...

I stayed there in November 2013 and co workers will be staying there in March 2014. The place is extremely clean. The stairway was very Dutch and steep. The kitchen was great to make your own meals. there was even a washer and dryer in the kitchen, I am not sure whether they let the guests use it. I stayed...

For 555 euros for 3 nights, you would expect much more!! This is the complaint E-mail I sent: Hi There, We're just...

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
