We stayed for two nights in April 2017. The plus point is the location. It is just across the Amsterdam Central Station. If you are taking the train, make sure you exit on the main side of the station – you should see many shops on the opposite side of the station. Look out for a canal and McDonald –...

From my experience this is the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. The only plus is the location. The "room" was tiny and unclean. It contained only bed that could barely fit into that small space. No windows, only small ventilating window. WC and shower are on the floor. They were extremely dirty. I definitely would not advise to stay...

This hotel is 5 minutes from centraal station and is extremely handy with everything very close by. We had a room with 4 single beds and was absolutely fine for adults. There's not much space for luggage. We were at the back of the hotel and couldn't hear too much noise. The room had 2 large windows so was bright,...

We did not have a reservation when we walked through the door past midnight. We got out of the central train station and this was the very first place we saw and tried. There were no rooms available, there were rooms for the following night. And here comes the good/weird/interesting part. The receptionist said we could leave our stuff, wander...

Honestly, do not think you're smart by saving some money- not worth it. The hallways were smelly, the carpet wasn't even laid properly, the doors were extremely loud, and there was graffiti on the walls. The beds were rock solid as were the pillows. The mattress kept slipping off the bed so I was stuck between the mattress and the...

We stayed here for one night and it was quite comfortable. We reached early morning and were given a room before the check in time. The guy at the reception is very nice and friendly. Our room heating was not working initially but it was fixed in a few minutes. The toilet and bathroom was quite clean even though it...

Feb 5 and 6 2017 I flew into Amsterdam to finally see the sights, after departing the train station I came across Hotel Neutraal because it was very close. The initial appearance was that it was under renovation of some sort. I paid 100 Euros for 2 nights in room 22. I didnt stay in the room long the first...

Just awful, felt like we were squatting. No lock on shower door, everywhere stinks, sink in room blocked and tv does not work. Don't bother!! Banging of doors at night as all stud walls and every door squeaks massively. Very poor quality hotel. You are paying for location only so worth going a bit further in the city for a...

The room wasn't great but it's good considering what we paid, it was clean and they made our beds and changed the towels everyday. We had to share toilet and shower with all the other rooms in the corridor, though I do have to say these two facilities didn't look specially clean. On the bright side, we could see the...

Staying in Centrum

Neighbourhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
