We stayed at Hotel Residence Le Coin for 4 nights over Christmas. We found the room to be big and clean and the bed large and comfortable. The small kitchenette was fabulous as we could buy some and keep some snacks and cheap beers :) The hotel provides access to a washing machine and dryer complimentary (just supply your own...

Stayed here last month for an overnight visit to Amsterdam with my friends. There were four of us so we booked the family room through booking.com and got quite a good deal. This is definitely a good value for money. Location is superb, city center is easily accessible- good connectivity ( tram, metro). Also good for guests that might need to cook. Rooms are spacious enough. My thumbs up :))

This location is great, as it is located between the museums and Dam square, and many canals. The front desk was very helpful and informative. We really enjoyed the spacious rooms and the kitchenette with the espresso maker! We had street view and really didn't notice any noise, as they were doing lots of construction. It's about a 20-25 minute...

Great location for visiting Amsterdam, the staff is friendly and happy to help, the rooms are very good size (they include also a kitchenette) and the beds are comfortable. The only downside would be that the price is a little bit higher than expected and the bed sheets could smell better :p

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
