This is a great place, very centrally located. An easy walk to the train station or anywhere else in the center of town, and right at the Nieuwmarkt metro station if you don't want to walk. David and Chris were very welcoming and super helpful, and recommended a great place for dinner. There was a fully loaded refridgerator in the...

First of all, I have to say that my wife and I stayed here on our honeymoon. The worst part of our trip was that we didn't stay here the entire time. Unfortunately, we found this gem on our last night. The service was impeccable. The room was romantic and exquisite. The breakfast was delicious and abundant! We have stayed...

This little gem is just precious. Charming rooms, kind hosts, amazing breakfast in a fully equipped kitchen, location could not be better. I will definitely stay there next time. Highly recommend. The hosts were also very helpful in pointing out tours and had boat tickets for a very nice tour of the canals readily available.

We had the room on the top floor, in a delightful attic with wooden beams and skylights. Twin beds were comfortable. It would be very warm in hot weather, but we were there when summer temperatures were normal (highs of 21). The hosts were exceptionally friendly and informative about things to do and see, as well as Dutch culture. The...

It was a pleasant B&B, that offered 2 rooms so it is great for a family of 4 or 2 couples looking to travel. David and Chris were wonderful, Chris was there to get us situated and he even watched our bags before we were able to check in. The rooms were clean and the breakfast's were great, if your...

The Tulip of Amsterdam is a unique little Bed & Breakfast with only two guest rooms. The traditional canal house is conveniently situated in the center of Amsterdam right at the canal with the tongue-twisting name Kloveniersburgwal and has an impressive history of 350 years behind it. The staircase is, as you should expect with these original old dutch houses,...

On a recent trip to Amsterdam, we stayed 7 nights at Tulip of Amsterdam B&B. It is a small B&B with 2 guest rooms. The building is 350 years old and on a canal near the New Market Square. Each room has an en suite bath. Be aware that being an old canal house, the Tulip has very steep steps,...

We felt comfortable like we were at home (especially since David and Chris are so nice), and also felt like we got a true local experience in this cute old Dutch building. The room is cozy and clean. The location is perfect, just next to Newmarket square. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Amsterdam .

My husband and I stayed in this B&B for three nights. This B&B has an unbeatable location in Centrum. Without heavy luggage, it is a short walk to most attractions: central train station, Dam Square... we also walked to the Rijksmuseum, Cuyp market, and Anne Frank's house (all about ~30 min walk). Many cafes/restaurants nearby, and a small supermarket (Albert...

Staying in Centrum

Neighbourhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
