One of the best hotels in Amsterdam centre. Beautiful renovated, fantastic terrace, nice wines and very, very sympathetic staff. Because of the location of the hotel we were able to visit all points of interest we planned to go to very easily. I'll go back there for sure...

Loved most aspects of this place -- the location, the staff, the furnishings in the room, and especially the size of the bathroom (ours was a mere double room). Two tiny complaints: we would have liked to have been able to open the windows instead of relying exclusively on the air conditioning, and some hooks in the bathroom would have...

Stayed here two nights over a weekend. We had no issues with the service - everyone was friendly, which more than makes up for any lack of experience. I personally found the room we were in quite dark, and a few areas could have done with a touch-up (scuffed corners etc) - has the potential to be a five star...

We stayed here because we know Amsterdam quite well and the position is excellent for visiting the concert hall and the museums as well as all the other attractions Amsterdam has to offer. As a suggestion catch a 197 bus from outside Schipol Airport to the stop outside the concert hall. The walk to The College Hotel is a mere...

Spent 5 days at this hotel. The twist is that it is largely staffed by hospitality students . This means they are incredibly friendly and keen to please .Which is a good thing . Lots of stonework and moody lighting. You may need a torch in the bedroom!Quieter rooms will be at the back. Great location ,10 mins walk to...

We stopped by for lunch and within the course of two hours, we had a tray of drinks spilled on us, the wrong drinks replaced, lunch served to us that belonged to another table, and when we finally were served, it was delivered in two tranches -- so two of us had food, the other two did not. The proverbial...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
