This hotel is the gold standard of hospitality. It’s what I know as old fashioned hospitality, where politeness goes above and beyond. The compassionate hospitality provided by the staff everywhere with such attitude and smiles galore to make our stay so memorable.
Thank you Marco, Samuel, Juan and Victor. Nathaniel, Roeland and Isabella the concierges; Juraj, Julia and Glenda at F&B. Thank you for helping us with our vegetarian diets.
This is our second time and not the last.

Had such a memorable experience staying at this Waldorf hotel. The attention to detail, and the attentiveness could not be faulted by the wonderfully trained staff. Anything you ask for is accommodated for.
The extra touches to the room such as complimentary chocolate, turn down service with the fragrance of your choice, and being welcomed by a tidy room morning and evening is what makes this hotel so great.
The most shockingly amazing moment during my stay, was when we had informed the concierge that we would be interested in visiting the Anne Frank house, however the tickets were all sold out. The concierge called us the next morning informing us that they managed to get us tickets for myself and all of my friends.
The location is great and the food is fantastic and reasonably priced. I recommend the waffle for breakfast.
The only negative regarding my stay, is that I wish I was staying there for longer!

I’m a bit late with my review, since we stayed June 2019, but had to get it out there. Staying at the Waldorf Astoria for our 1st time in Amsterdam and to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary was a dream come true. Ahead of our visit, we arranged with the hotel for a car to pick us up at the airport. My husband and I arrived at the hotel in the morning and they kindly greeted us and took down our info. We were directed to the spa area to change clothes and freshen up and they held our luggage until our room was ready. We walked 3 short blocks to the Hermitage Museum to explore and have lunch, then walked around the city until our room was ready.
We had a King Grand Premier Canal type room that was very spacious and had a fabulous view of the Herengracht (Gentlemen's Canal) and bridge to get to Rembrandt Square where there were several restaurants, bars and shops we’d walk to most evenings to wine and dine. The room was beautiful and bathroom large with a shower and separate tub which I enjoyed bubble baths in with my champagne while reading a book. The service was friendly and impeccable, from the arranged car ride from the airport, the young and informative doorman, the lady that checked us in, the service person who brought us an electric converter box so I could plug in my curling iron, the daily breakfast and maid service team, the vault bartender, the concierge who arranged some excursion tickets for us, to the man who worked so hard to get the DVD player working in our room so we could watch a movie we borrowed.
At the hotel, a couple of evenings, we enjoyed cocktails in the vault bar and spent time in the outdoor garden area and gazebo. We walked everywhere from the hotel to visit all the attractions. On several days, returning to our room from our day of adventure and exploration, we were surprised with sweet and delicious treats and one day a beautiful pink rose arrangement in a lovely Amsterdam style vase. We loved having the Espresso machine in the room which we used every morning. What a treat. I surprised my husband with one just like it for Christmas. We use it every weekend and think of our wonderful stay at the Waldorf Amsterdam. On the last day it rained so we took a nice swim in the indoor pool and utilized the sauna and steam room.
We hated to leave the hotel and beautiful city, but we were on to our next adventure of a Viking cruise to Denmark and Norway. Our stay was excellent and the whole staff made our visit very memorable. Thank you to the Waldorf and Hilton (our favorite) brand!

My wife and I stayed at the Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam the first week of November. I recommend calling the Hotel to talk with them directly to get the latest COVID guidance and Room Options. We had a very nice room over looking the canal. COVID check-in procedures were the best we have seen... we have stayed in 7 Hotels during the pandemic.
In any organization the employees reflect the attitude and character of the upper management, and the Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam was no exception. I could tell by speaking with the Hotel Leadership Team at the Hotel that they loved their job. This same attitude and passion was reflected in every employee we came in contact with at the Waldorf Astoria. It was apparent that the goal of every staff member was to help us enjoy our stay at the Hotel and in Amsterdam. They not only met this goal but well exceeded it… to which we are thankful.
The little touches made the difference: I mentioned to the concierge that my wife and I enjoyed the music in the restaurant and how it would be nice if we could get that music in the room. Shortly after getting back to our room, the concierge called and said if we liked she could have a music streaming device brought up to our room that played similar music of the Peacock Alley restaurant. The individual that set up the device in our room was very helpful.
Throughout the week we indulged ourselves at the Serene Guerlain Spa. Our Beauty Therapists were extremely bright and attentive, very knowledgeable in many aspects of their career. For example, a therapist took time to show my wife what she learned during her reflexology courses and it helped my wife immensely!
Every meal we had at the Peacock Alley was an absolute delight. We felt like every need/wish was attended to. The staff was exceptional and they made our stay all the more memorable.
Spectrum Restaurant: A Culinary Masterpiece! My wife has special dietary restrictions and we appreciated how the Restaurant Manager and his team of divine food-artists took on the challenge with much success! The whole experience was delectable and fit for Royalty…which is how they made us feel. Spectrum is a 'most' if you are staying at the Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam... or even if you are staying in Amsterdam for just one night.
Our friends told us not to go to Amsterdam because there were too many Covid cases, however, as one of the Hotel's YouTube videos said... “Stop dreaming…wake up with us and Go Crazy!”

My wife and I very much enjoyed our stay at the Waldolf Astoria. The hotel is beautiful and the Mejca (sp?) even took time to explain the history of the building as we checked in. The hospitality and friendliness of all the staff was first class. When I asked about the gardens I was immediately given a tour outside by that staff member. Shannon was very helpful as we planned dinner and more in the city. The staff even donated hygiene items from the hotel when they learned we were on our way to Africa to participate in medical missions. Thank you for a fantastic stay.

There are two aspects to write about, the physical property and the service. Before arriving I had read many reviews that said the service was magnificent. I was a bit skeptical. However, the service exceeded expectations. All the staff is exceedingly friendly and welcoming. I normally do not like doormen/woman as I think it is unnecessary and that the employees are just looking for tips. But at this Waldorf the staff just seems naturally welcoming. The attention you receive is detailed and personalized with welcome gifts. My 17 year old daughter is allergic to tree nuts (and could not eat the welcome gift, soon after getting to the room she received a place of fruit instead. Other services we received were from the concierges. Mirelli found a nice Italian restaurant (Incanto) for our party of 8 with a private quiet room ( nice but not high end.) Peter organized a private covered boat ride which picked us up at the hotel and dropped us off where we wanted. Frank advised which hospital had the shortest wait time (although 5 minutes more away) when we needed to go because my daughter was struck (glancing blow) by a motorcycle (exray was negative) and in and out of the hospital emergency in 2 hours. Personal explanations of the beautiful garden and similar explanations.
The physical hotel is beautiful and much from the 1600’s but looks new. The 4 rooms we received were upgrades and spacious and across the hall from each other on the third floor. 2 were garden view and 2 were canal view (the canal view from the third floor is a high window with an alcove to sit with 2 steps up- the second and first floor canal rooms I believe have full or large view windows. As a Hilton Diamond I am aware upgrades are at the discretion of the hotel and although there were certainly better rooms we were pleased to have some rooms with a canal view. As all the rooms are really nice I you should not expect to get upgraded to a suite at this hotel as a Diamond. We did receive complementary breakfast for 2 which made breakfast for 8 really reasonable. The orange juice and apple juice was fresh squeezed and that is just an example of what to expect.
physically the only other comparable hotels I have stayed at are the Waldorf Astoria Rome (Cavalieri) and Al Maja outside Dubai. The service here was top and perhaps similar to Al Maja. This is now one of my 3 favorite hotels. Although it did not matter we stayed on points/free nights. We could not have been treated better.

Waldorf Astoria is probably today’s best hotel in Amsterdam. It is certainly not among the cheapest but if you are looking for a 5 star top hotel experience, don’t look any further.
Great location downtown Amsterdam, very professional and friendly staff, the hotel offers an indoor pool & gym, great spa facilities and two restaurants of which one with 2 Michelin stars (note: not open every day). The rooms are decorated with an eye for style, we opted for a King Grand Premier Room (has a larger bathroom) and were upgraded to a Canal View King Grand Premier Room. At arrival you even get to choose the odeur for your room. The hotel has around 90 rooms that are divided over 6 canal houses, which assures an intimate experience. Valet parking service at your disposal. This was not our first time at this hotel and we definitely will return.

My wife and I have extensive stays with many high quality hotels. The service, accommodations, and dining at the Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam is clearly our best experience. The staff is exceptional from the gentlemen helping us with our baggage, the personalized check in process, as well as the pristine condition of our room (Aesop soaps and personalized room fragrance). We enjoyed multiple meals with elegant food with impeccable service. It was the attention to detail in anticipating our needs that sets the service at this establishment apart. The prime location on the "gentleman's canal" in Amsterdam was ideal. We will happily stay at the Waldorf the next chance we get to travel to Amsterdam again.

I recently stayed at this amazing property for two days with my parents.
Even before the start of our stay, the hotel staff got in touch to inform us about Covid-related restrictions and to check if we had any special requests, which was a nice touch and was very comforting during these time especially.
The check-in upon arrival was very friendly and professional. Even though we had arrived way before official check in time, our rooms were already available. We also got upgraded to a King Grand Premier Room due to our Hilton Honors Gold Status and were allocated to adjoining rooms, despite the fact that I had picked my room in the Hilton app beforehand and my parents had not. I was impressed.
The room itself was absolutely gorgeous with plenty of room, natural light and everything else one could wish for.
We had breakfast at the hotel's restaurant Peacock Alley, which was amazing. The coffee was barista made and the dishes we ordered (Eggs Benedict & belgian waffles) were delicious, not to mention the very attentive and friendly service.
I have worked in luxury hotels myself and stayed at various ones too, but never once have I seen a place like the Waldorf Astoria.
Unfortunately I have neglected to ask any of the staff memebers for their name, but every single one of them made us feel so welcomed and as we were the only guests of the hotel, which made this the most memorable stay.
If you ever get a chance to book a room here, I highly recommend it!

Unfortunately I have neglected to ask any of the staff memebers for their name, but every single one of them made us feel so welcomed and as we were the only guests of the hotel, which made this the most memorable stay.
If you ever get a chance to book a room here, I highly recommend it!

We were delighted by the attentive and courteous hotel associates we came in contact with. Everyone went out of their way to ensure we were well taken care of. The check-in process was well orchestrated and efficient. The breakfast team was organized and did a great job of taking care of us. The concierge team went out of their way and beyond expectations to help with tickets and direction for the things we wanted to take advantage of during our visit. The attention to detail from room service, housekeeping and turn down service was one of the best we have had the opportunity to witness. The spa is well worth checking out too. Great job by the Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam team!

No there is not. But they take very good care of their diamond members.
The vault bar is beautiful.
No all non-smoking hotel.
