The hotel is located next to Vondelpark (some rooms have view of park) and very close to some major museums (Rijksmuseum, Stedelijk) in a neighborhood of mixed residential and (expensive) shopping. Trams very close. Rooms are very small but clean and with the expected amenities (tea kettle, wifi, safe. There is an elevator but some room are a few stairs...

We had no idea what this hotel would be like, but wanted to be an easy walk to museums, especially the Rijksmuseum. As it turned out, we had a very short walk to the museum. The hotel was clean, the extra 10 euros for breakfast was well worth it, and the access to public transportation was terrific. The room price...

After reading other reviews i was worried about where i had booked! Once we got there i was happily surprised, friendly receptionist, room was clean, bed was really comfy sunk into it. English speaking channels on the telly and the shower was powerful and hot! Breakfast was good, everyone we met on the desk spoke good english and was really...

I don't want to complain, I knew I wasn't going to stay at a fancy 5-star hotel, but there are some things I want to get off my chest and for the rest to know. Our room was the size of a ship cabin, but for 2 nights that's okay enough. Cleaning appliances and other things such as toilet paper...

This hotel is well situated for visiting all the attractions with the public transport system located in under a few hundred yards. We got to Schipol Airport and took the 197 bus from stand B on the plaza - this drops you off within a few hundred yards of the hotel. There are a few restaurants locally and an excellent...

Ok for the price room was clean and basic. Is a good location for the museum district. Never tried the breakfast as we just use the hotel to sleep and eat out whilst we are away. Only negative is the people on reception were quite rude due to their poor grasp of speaking English they would struggle to understand you...

The room was clean but not very big. The breakfast was very good with a broad selection of quality food. Scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, a variety of bread, cereals, ham, cheese etc Nice, service minded staff. Good location in the most expensive shopping street :)

We stayed there for 3 nights. The room was very clean and the breakfast selection was very good. My only complain with the room was that we had problem with the shower head. It wasnt working well and the hot water was intermittent.

We booked this hotel through a travel agent for my husband, myself and our two sons of 13 and 15. We wanted a quad room as we were unfamiliar with the hotel. I was a bit apprehensive as looked at many of the reviews the week before we travelled and was wishing that we had booked somewhere else but it...

No time to waffle so keep it to the point: noisy room on ground floor got moved to 3rd floor with leaking shower (got fixed 2 days later). Threadbare, ripped & mascara stained towels. No plugs. Mattress toppers that fall off the bed base . Miserable female staff at reception and in the dining room. Musty smell in dining room...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
