I have just stayed at the museum hotel and think it's the best hotel I have EVER stayed at! It really did make my holiday, the staff were so helpful and friendly! When I go back I will 100% be staying at this hotel again! One very happy customer :)

Looks good enough from the outside, but the gulf between the polished reception and the tired, cramped room is vast. Assaulted by the stench of toilet as soon as I entered the corridor to the basement level room, which permeated through to the room. No soundproofing to speak of, could hear every noise from both street outside and corridor and... More

Clean, good value for money and fab location. Beautiful view from room out into Amsterdam. Quite busy outside but noise couldn't be heard in room. Bathroom a bit small and minibar was empty/ coffee tea etc wasn't amazing quality but this was more than fine given the price of the rooms!

TV not very practical placed in single accommodation. Room very basic. Breakfast great. Staff excellent and helpful. Entrance could be more "user friendly' as it is quite difficult to carry heavy suitcases up the stairs for a woman.

Small rooms but price/performance is ok. Friendly staff. Good breakfast buffet. Parking area for loading and anloading the car with luggage should be more monitored because most of the time occupied. Clean rooms.

Small room, we kept bumping into each other! Very uncomfortable bed which had a mattress topper which had a mind of its own. However the room was clean and warm and we only needed it to sleep in. It was nice to have complimentary iced water in reception also apples! Best of all about this hotel were the fantastic staff.... More

WHOEEEEEEEH YES! Thank you for your review. We are aware of the room size, it is a very common size in Amsterdam... Nevertheless, thank you for the positive vibes about our employees, I will forward them directly! If you enjoy living in a shoebox with barely enough room to turn around in, stay at the best western apollo! Stayed in a double room and booked because the rate was the best in the area, but soon found out exactly why...This place barely qualifies as a hotel as the rooms are so tiny, the shower edges are moldy,... Thank you for sharing your experience! The wifi and the extra step to log in is something that makes us unique as a hotel! As you know we are located in the middle of the city centre (which is full of restaurants), that is one of the reasons we only service 'quick' food in the bar. Nevertheless, please be aware... More

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
