We got first good informations about Amsterdam, culture, restaurants and public traffic. Mrs. Benjamin gave us two museum-passes for free entrance for all Amsterdam museums. With them we hadn`t to stand in line at the entrance. It was a nice service. Near the house there is the olympic stadion with park and ride for 6 € the day. On the...

We are a middle-aged Canadian couple who prefer to stay at safe, clean, modestly priced and well-located accommodations. The Garden View B&B is a delightful place to stay. Our hostess was both friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was divine – enough left over to pack a great lunch. Both the room and separate bath were clean and functional. We...

Gardenview is a wonderful B&B. I knew nothing about Amsterdam when I booked my 3 nights - I only knew I didn't want to be in the dead center of all the tourist hubbub. Gardenview was definitely not in all that chaos, but before arriving I did wonder if it might be a bit far from nice restaurants, shopping, ect....

My wife and I stayed at Nessie's B&B for 5 nights in September, then, because we had to fly back to the States from Amsterdam, stayed for one more night after spending time in Brugge and Paris. Nessie was an extremely gracious, helpful hostess. We stayed in one room for the first 5 days, then the other for the last...

My husband and I stayed here for two nights - it is the type of place that makes you want to linger in your room or on the balcony - very comfortable, quiet, with a nice courtyard view. Breakfast was great and tailored to our individual dietary restrictions/preferences. Nessie took a lot of time to talk to us about our...

A rather bland exterior - with steep steps up to the entrance on the left of the landing - houses a beautifully decorated lovely room with a small balcony and an enchanting view of the garden. The bed is very comfortable indeed for a single person (about 140cm wide = 56 inches), breakfast is fantastic. The place is spotlessly clean...

The Garden View B&B was an amazing find. The room was large and stylishly decorated, and had a small balcony with a cafe table so you could enjoy the garden view. The hostess was friendly, informative, and very professional. While the place is small, just two bedrooms and one bath, we never felt cloistered or uncomfortable. We never saw the...

This place was great. Nice and quite and fairly convenient. It's a short walk to both the tram to the center of town and the Amsterdam Zuid station. My wife and I really enjoyed our stay and will definitely come again when we return to Amsterdam. What was really great was that she offered us Museum passes which saved us...

We never felt welcome in this b&b. We always had the feeling the host didn't like us to stay in her house. Instead of welcoming us, we where told to remove our shoes ans were shown the rules of the toilet and rules of the bathroom. A pity, because the rooms, room & location are nice.

I am surprised to learn that my introduction to the Garden View premises was misunderstood. It is a custom in many cultures to ask guests to remove their shoes at the door, and even though it is not as prevelant as it once was, Holland is one of those cultures. However, on the many websites on which Garden View is...
