Element Amsterdam hotel garners appreciation for its strategic position near a shopping mall and key transport links, offering a respite from urban clamor. Guests speak fondly of the peaceful, home-like setting, and the rooms earn commendation for their cleanliness and practical kitchenettes, despite occasional negligible complaints. The staff's warm and efficient service receives high marks, as does the hotel's cleanliness and amenities, although opinions on value diverge, with some criticism directed at the pricing and location relative to the city center.

We booked our stay at the Element hotel through a package weekend break through British Airways.

The hotel is well located just on the outskirts of the main town in a quiet location. Ideally positioned between two metro stations of which one is a 10-15 minute walk with the other a short bus journey(5-10mins) from the bus stop outside the front of the shopping centre (connected to the hotel). There you can buy metro, tram and bus ticket (GVB ticket) which was £11 for 2 days. The hotel room is very spacious with a large bed, small kitchen with all the utensils needed and a dining table which is ideal if you want to eat on a budget. Shower room was great with a ceiling shower head and an additional separate moveable shower head for other uses both had good water pressure and temperature control. There also is plenty of clothes storage with an ironing board and an iron. The breakfast is continental which we enjoyed and certainly suited our needs with plenty of choice for our 2 night stay.

One small downside was the walls which separate each room are rather thin and we experienced our neighbours playing music until late into the night. Although this was resolved but a quick call to the reception who promptly dealt with the matter.

Overall I would recommend this hotel to friends and family and would certainly stay again.

We love the concept of an apartment hotel especially during Covid, having your meals in your room . Every room has got a kitchenette and a sitting corner . For a small fee we upgraded to a suite which consists of a separate bedroom with ensuite bathroom , a big kitchen with all appliances, a dining and sitting corner.
There is a laundry room with washers and dryers
We were very impressed with the service, especially Mikael the manager who helped and advised us all the time.
The location on top of the Gelderland plein mall is very convenient
Not far from public transport . Indoor parking for much reduce price
Parking prices in Amsterdam are very high ( even 7 EU/ hr)

The Element is a very nice hotel next to a very nice shopping mall with upscale shops. The rooms are large and comfortable, with all amenities for a longer stay. there's a small kitchen, a table for two, a surprisingly comfortable sofa on which you can sleep as well. The bed is huge and also extremely comfortable. I think this was the first night ever in a hotel that I immediately slept deeply the first night. The bed didn't need any getting used to. Also the Airco is very responsive to the setting, if you set it on 18 degrees, it will be 18 degrees constantly! Even thoug the hotel was full, there was hardly any noise from outside the room. Bathroom is spacious with a lovely shower and a heated mirror so you can immediately take care of hair and make up... The only downside was that there was no English breakfast included in the free breakfast. They can provide it, but you have to pay 2.50 eur per side order. The bacon was excellent however, super crispy! Taxes add a bit to your costs, say 15 euro per night for a room with 2 people. Late checkout is 4pm!!! Staff is very friendly and helpfull.

I stayed in this hotel on 6 to 8 of January.

1) at the check in I specifically explained that I would like my vVsa card to be charged and spent a fair amount of time clarifying this and providing necessary card details at the check in. The check in person assured me that everything will be fine and the correct card will be charged.

2) To my surprise at a check out I was told that a different card was charged instead (which charges extra fees/higher exhange rates ect) and which I specifically asked not to be used several times

3) it was then agreed at the check out desk that I will be refunded the difference.

4) no refund was recieved for a few days and no any communication either. I had to call the hotel from overseas and then they asked me to email the reception which I did immediately

5) after that I was asked by the hotel for my bank statements to be provided which again I did immediately

6) I have been waiting for a refund for over a week now and asked for details of the manager (Jan Hilvert Hammenga) yesterday on which I recieved NO RESPONSE

In summary, the hotel itself is nice but the customers services in this hotel are not up to the standard of Mariott hotels.

I also note that the hotel offers breakfast as part of the package but in reality the breakfast is extremely basic and there is a seperate menu at the breakfast table which offers to buy a "nice" warm breakfast for extra cash. This is not a very nice move either.

Our room was excellent and surprisingly spacious. It's a bit closer to an American-style hotel than the others I've seen in Europe. The appliances and fixtures are all very modern. It has a kitchen with a small stove, microwave, and refrigerator/freezer; that was convenient for nights when I wanted to cook in. There's a supermarket in the same building, and another opening there soon, so grocery access should be very easy.

Accessible laundry in the hotel was a godsend, but it takes fifty-cent Euro coins only. It's €2.50 per wash or dry cycle. The hotel was able to give us some change, but other guests had already taken most of the coins. It would be wise to bring some coins with you if you need to do laundry.

It's a slight walk to the nearest tram, and further to reach the Zuid station, but everything you could want is accessible from there. We were able to reach the Rijksmuseum, Schiphol, Almere, Muiden, and the Keukenhof (via Europaplein) with ease.

The area immediately around the hotel is very quiet.

The wifi worked very well on my laptop, but my phone couldn't connect to it. Hopefully they'll fix that.

The front desk attendant, Lisa, was immensely helpful and friendly, especially when we had trouble with one of the dryers. It's because of her that I decided to write this review. Say hello to her when you visit!

All in all, a great hotel! If you want something more contemporary and quiet and don't mind being 20 minutes or so outside the city, I highly recommend it. The only drawback is that there's not much of a view, but you'll only be there at night anyway.

Super warm welcome at this wonderful “extended stay” hotel. Even our dog who is still young and a bit excited received a warm welcome with treats :) The hotel feels fancy, modern and very well kept, the kitchen, the larger room and the amenities gave us great flexibility to either eat there or go out to restaurants close by. I look forward to staying there again!

A couple small notes:
-There is an underground parking garage under the hotel but we were able to park on the street for free around the hotel. (from 19h to 9h). During the day there is a maximum duration of 1.5 hour but we would normally go out.
-The hotel is in a mall where you’ll find shops, supermarkets and restaurants

Comfortable rooms, helpful staff, close to transit. The rental bikes were way better than I would normally expect from a hotel. The small kitchenette in the rooms were very well supplied, down to a dishwasher. My only complaint is that the cleaning staff did clean my room a few times when I had a do not disturb on the door.

My family and I had a wonderful stay at Element Amsterdam. We received the warmest welcome from Michel, who gave us a detailed explaination about the hotel and how to get into the city. He even checked in on us after we got into our rooms to make sure rhat everything was in order.

We also managed to get connecting rooms (Requested prior to arrival) that we so greatly appreciated. Our furry friend was also able to join us for €25 per night.

We loved the spacious rooms with the kitchenette, which made us feel like home. I also loved the small stickers in the room that informed guests about filtered water from the tap being drinkable.

Beakfast was superb with a wide selection. Pansy from breakfast was very friendly and helpful. It was like meeting a friend in a foreign place.

Overall, very satisfied with our stay! (room, staff and service) Highly recommended 😊

I'm here in Amsterdam for a long trip and have stayed in 4 different hotels until I find The Element! This is an amazing hotel located in a wonderful neighborhood, super safe, super convenient for food (don't matter if your stomach is Asian or Western).

The hotel itself is premium: neat, smells good, not noisy. Sometimes I feel there can be more light inside my room, but 90% of the time that's just fine. The room comes with everything you need if you want to cook a meal, besides your ingredients.

Poeple are very helpful and friendly, especially Pansy. Every time I meet her in Papa's Loft House for breakfast, she just lights up my day, always so energetic and happy to everyone. And she will tell you what's her favorite food there, so you can have a try : ) Ms. Pansy makes everyday breakfast such an enjoyable experience and a highlight during my stay here.

The housekeeping team is also very professional and considerate: I hate light in the morning, so I use a small table to press the curtain against the wall, so no light can come in. After two days, the housekeeping stopped moving the small table back to place and open the curtain. That's considerate and I want to say thank you.

Overall, this is such a good hotel that you won't regret staying in.

Our stay in this hotel was excellent, from the moment we arrived we felt very good. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The breakfast had all the basics to start the day. If you wish eggs, you have to pay them separate.
Quality price, unbeatable. On top, you have plenty of little restaurants around since it is located in a shopping mall. There is also a big Supermarket there, a pharmacy, many shops ...really everything. It is located 15 min from downtown having the tram stop 500 mts away and a night bus that leave you literally at the door of the hotel.
All by all, a great stay.
