We spent 4 nights at the Lion D'Or. Very friendly, welcoming staff. Comfortable clean room. Breakfast was one of the best we came across . Location close to Haarlem train station is ideal for 15 min trip into Amsterdam and even better to return from Amsterdam for a pleasant evening in Haarlem. Lovely town, very clean, great restaurants and pubs...

We stayed in the Golden Tulip Lion D'Or as part of a bike tour of Holland. We found the hotel to be clean and tidy and very welcoming. A great breakfast in the morning too which helped fuel the days cycling.

We spent 2 nights at the Lion D'Or and was pleasntly surprised by the good beds and quiet room. The hotel is located across the street from the train station and bus which allowed us easy access to Amsterdam without having to fight the crowds.

Nice hotel in a location adjacent to the train and bus stations in Haarlem. The rooms were clean and comfortable, but I must add that shoving two double beds together does not qualify as a queen bed. One night we were awakened by a bunch of kids in the alley right outside our window, who appeared to have had one...

This is a hotel that doesn't deserve 4 stars. It is old and loud, be prepared to hear the footsteps of your above neighbours. The airco can't be left on during night, too noisy. The beds are not the most comfortable ones. The worst part is that the curtains do not obscure the room, somebody has been cheesy with the...

Stayed here 3 nights with my bicycle group. Rooms very clean and comfortable, free wifi, delicious breakfast spread. The staff was pleasant and tried to help us with restaurant and site seeing suggestions. Located right across from the train station, so convenient to Amsterdam. The town of Haarlem is definitely worth a day or more visit.

Some close friends and I stayed at the Lion D'Or between June 9th and June 13th. We had a great visit. Mr. F. Hoffman and his staff run a tight ship. The rooms were very clean , with lots of space. The location of the train station makes it ideal for visiting all the surrounding cities.

A group of four of us had an overnight stay at this hotel, the room was clean and comfortable, staff were very friendly and the breakfast was fine, very close to railway station. Would gladly recommend this hotel.

Dear Mick, Thank you for your kind review. it is good to read you and your friends enjoyed your 1 night stay in one of our bigger rooms that can accommodate 4 persons. We hope that your cycling trip that day was a good one despite the weather, and that the ferry crossed the canal as i promised:)

This Golden Tulip location is no frills - the rooms are very basic, with no decorations, very little color and few extras. That being said though, the hotel is perfect for exploring Haarlem, and was clean and comfortable. It is right across the street from the train station and bus stop, which was wonderfully easy for coming and going and...
