Detailed Reviews
I booked 2 nights stay at this guesthouse on 3rd floor. He helped to bring my big luggage upstairs. I had bad experience with this hostel as the door was hard to open from outside even I entered the correct code which made me waited outside raining. Then I tried to send whatsapp message and he didn't respond so I called on whatsapp and a couple minutes he opened the door with angry face. I knew it was late at night as I was a tourist that only had 1 full day traveling around Amsterdam because the next day I traveled to Brussels early morning. When I knocked on his door for check out he got mad and threaten me that he would give me a bad review. Then he didn't help me to bring my big luggage down through his narrowl tall stairs. So I asked other guest to help me. It's NOT RECOMMENDED to stay in this guesthouse. It's better to sleep in Amsterdam hostel with location near city centre.

Finding affordable accommodation in Amsterdam is always a challenge. I attended a conference and were looking for a two nights stay over. This time I extended my search to include surrounding areas and ended up booking at this guesthouse.
Zaandam is great location and the establishment itself is in a quiet neighbourhood. It provide easy walking distance to Zaandam train station offering quick access to airport and Amsterdam Central station.
Kenneth was very helpful and friendly. A few things I feel important to highlight.
The quality of the wifi connection was intermittent and at times prevented me to send work emails. In the shared bathroom they used a loose floor covering ("carpet") which collects and traps germs easily and I believe were the source of unwanted odours. I appreciated the finer details like personalised welcome on the door and it will be great to apply this attention to detail to everything inside the room. e.g the little desk appears to be a work in progress and the back of the cupboard has exposed fire or sound proofing. I usually don't book accommodation with shared bathrooms, but thought to give it a try. Due to the odours it confirmed my hesitation to book such places or recommend places with shared bathroom facilities, in particular where the toilet is not separate from the shower.
