It was my first time staying over this hotel and it offers good quality food and service. The staff are really helpful and rooms are good (soft bed& pillows). You can never be hungry when you are there as there is always option to eat, drink and snack. It would be nice if there were English board games to rent as most of the board games they offer are in Dutch it. It would also be nice to have menu or names to display for the cocktails as someone who doesn't drink often, ordering drinks through colors was weird as there were no names displayed.
Value is dependent on the highly variable pricing. Several rooms were 11 degrees when we were there, showers cold in the morning, no pressure at night. The facilities that were working were good. No cinema and max 2 rides working at the funfair during our trip. Staff don't smile... ever. Food is good but you need to be early as choice runs out very quickly. Fun because we were there with friends and family so we didn't need much.
It did give resort vibe. We enjoyed it every bit and is planning on going back. For the price its worth it. Small minus points is the room. That is the only thing that didn't respresent the resort vibe and also the TV. Just incase you want to rest from all the eating, drinking and partying. The channels were not enough. But it's good. Do go and have a good time.
Hotel has everything under one roof. Activities, entertainment, food & drinks, pool. Was very nice with the whole family to spend a few days there. Really enjoyed the time. It could use however a refresher on many locations. For example shower in the room, carpets and walls in hotel area, bowling lane experience, mini-golf lanes. All still functional, but the years have shown their marks. Food was very good, plenty to choose from, also for vegetarians enough options. Drinks included whenever you want. Room itself was very spacious, could use one shelve in the closed more to store clothing. Blankets were too hot for us, but could used the sheets only. Refrigerator and safe in the room were also very welcome. We would travel back again to enjoy the entertainment with the family. …
Great location with numerous activities - all prepared with great attention to detail. It will not get boring there. Rooms however are small (for Standard Rooms) and services, especially in the restaurants, could improve in terms of attentiveness and occasionally friendliness.
My son and I had a wonderful time at Preston Palace and will definitely be back again. The food, friendly staff and great facilities ( swimming pool, indoir circus, play area)is worth a second trip there.
I’ve been in the hotel for 5 days. First our safe didnt work, actually no battery. I complained for 3 days then finally it was fixed. I have a baby, so I’ve asked my room to be cleaned before 1pm so my baby could sleep. I’ve heard “no worries, I’ll put in the system”. It never happened, not even once!. I was always chasing the cleaners begging to clean my room! Then we’ve decided to try one of their a la carte restaurants. We’ve arrived at 17:30. At 18:15 we were finally served a stake for me and sausages for the kids.. 45 min for a simple sausage. When you stay in a resort with small kids you want service to make your life easier. We didn’t experience in there.
I expected too much of Preston Palace- 2 night's sleep and a smooth check in/ check out. This hotel is not designed for the business traveller. All you can eat, all you can drink, bingo, magic show, mini golf, party all night, go to breakfast in your jim jams. This is your place! Here are some of the downsides. There is a risk, with all this excess, that folk could take advantage. I had a nice meal in the bistro , alone - it was empty ( the bingo was on ) I thought I'd take my glass of wine and the bottle of water upstairs. "Sorry - No - take a glass, but no bottles can be carried in the corridors - you might use it as a weapon..." I'm a little old lady with a hanbag .... but hey, rules are rules. Violence must be prevented. There is a risk that folks might steal/ skip out without paying- so they ask for payment up front- understandable. Imagine my surprise when asking for an invoice ( business expenses) to be told that I could not have one as the computer did not have me registered in the room... could I prove it? After a night of 3 hours sleep (not my party I hasten to add) and a need to leave at 7:15 to go to the office - i had mislaid the plastic room key- so no i couldn't. I said "sorry ill pay for the key ( 5€) - and not to worry - I've paid so I'll do without the invoice - I need to go. " "You can't leave Madam - you must find the key to the room. " I can't find the key - you can see on your computer i paid on arrival - I'm off. The computer wasn't playing - you've never been registered in that room Madam . In which case I won't need to pay you and you don't need to worry. Goodbye. I jump in the taxi. Now it gets slightly bizarre... There is a security barrier. The taxi was stopped at the gate and told that I couldn't leave. A stand off ensued... the taxi blocked the exit - lots of cars horns blaring , me and the security guard exchanging tense words... "Can you look at the system and see who was in the room the night before "- " I can't disclose that information" Can you see if it was me?? " Gave my name, gave a credit card to prove it, "was it my colleague , perhaps you confused us ? " "Does my name appear anywhere in the system?" - the computer would not divulge.. "What would you like me to do ? " "Find the room key, you can't leave without giving it back" - "it's a small piece of plastic it could be anywhere - maybe one of the other guests took it from the breakfast bar. I can't be the first person ever to mislay a plastic card " Eventually- sense prevailed - I guess the guard thought that an old lady in relatively smart dress in a black mercedes would not be inclined to infiltrate the Preston Park security at 7 am for a cheeky free breakfast... and suddenly I was free.. For a hen party or stag do or for the kids at half term ( soft play area !) you'll enjoy Preston Park - just don't lose your room key...…
We had a great time and will definitely return. Food and service were great and everything was very clean. The bed comes apart when you share it with someone- this was very uncomfortable. Limit the number of words that you have to use in the review!!!!!!!!!!
To be honest, all inclusive is not my cup of tea, so can't fault Preston Palace for everything. Let's start with the positive, breakfast was superb. The queues in the venue and at the front desk moved quickly. Throughout the day food and drinks plentiful. Rooms simple but good beds and I guess the idea is to not spend much time in the room. A bit dusty though and we had some issues with cleanliness in one of the bathrooms. Furthermore, the place itself has an outdated feel to it, many machines in the game hall and fair hall didn't function. Staff was either super friendly or very grumpy, no in between. Maybe finding good new staff after covid plays a role here. The Peppermill restaurant looked fine (we only had the takeaway here which was decent) but the other a la carte was below par. The snackcorner was laughableBoth our kids didn't find the entertainment too exciting. We booked one night thinking to add on to it if we liked it, but it stayed with the one time. All in all, a bit overpriced especially if you don't want to spend the entire time binging on mediocre food.…
