Detailed Reviews
Hotel's Favourite
Location: very close to the motorway means easy access to and from the hotel. There is parking (for a charge but it was waived as we are IHG members).
Check in: fast and friendly. We had booked a rewards night and were somewhat surprised to learn that we had to pay a city tax at the hotel. It was only a few Euros and no big deal.
Room: the rooms are small but nice and modern. The TV has quite a few English language channels including BBC1 and 2. The bathroom was nice. Both the room and bathroom were clean.
Wifi: the complimentary wifi was good.
Breakfast: smaller than an English breakfast but larger than a continental US style breakfast. There is bread, cereal, yoghurt, juices, coffee, tea, cheese etc.
Overall: a very conveniently located hotel. We would stay again.

Booking last minute, we had hoped to stay nearer to Rotterdam however we ended up visited a number of places that were closer to Deventer due to staying here. You definitely need a car as the hotel is just off the motorway a little outside the city. It’s a new hotel 2022 as you would expect clean and everything in the room working perfectly. Friendly helpful staff. Breakfast included was simply continental and fresh. Next to the hotel is a fuel station and other side a buffet restaurant with a play area for children. Great place to eat, you have many food options hear, all good and friendly staff. Deventer was a present surprise as was Amersfoot and Utrecht, all very pretty cultural places we probably wouldn’t have found if staying in Rotterdam or Amsterdam. If this is your first trip to the Netherlands don’t, as we did, assume that Amsterdam and Rotterdam are going to be the only cities worth visiting. For business or touring holiday I would recommend this hotel for all age groups.

We were looking to break our journey from Kiel to Dunkirk and this was the perfect location, just over half way and very close to the motorway.
I’m an IHG rewards member so I use these hotels regularly and this is one of the best I’ve stayed in.
Opened recently, it was fresh and modern with a generous bedroom and en suite shower.
My positive experience was completed by a friendly welcome at reception and a very reasonable price that included breakfast which, although it was fairly basic, was quite sufficient.
I would also highly recommend the A1 buffet restaurant next door which was superb!

After a revolting experience with 'de tuinhuis Gorssel', who should be removed from all booking sites, we needed an emergency stay. As IHG member, I saw Deventer has a new Holiday inn which I could book online. After arriving only after 20 minutes, the check in was smooth, the rooms already organized and we got an upgrade.
The rooms are very well equipped and quiet. The beds very comfortable although the duvet was a bit too warm. We had a great sleep. The breakfast is indeed simple but sufficient.
The location is a bit away from the centre so keep this in mind.
The only two points for improvement are to have a glass door or additional shower curtain in the bathroom as otherwise the floor is soaked and slippery.
For breakfast, a container on the table to put in your waste, would be brilliant not only for guests but also for the invisible breakfast staff.

This hotel is located on the outskirts of Deventer near the highway.
There is free parking as well as paid parking. I used the free parking.
There were a few pros, but mostly cons.
Pros:
1) The staff are really friendly and helpful
2) I appreciated the person that checked me in. I realized during my stay that the hotel is mostly frequented by men, so the fact that she just pointed to my room number on the keycard and did not say it out loud was a brilliant security precaution for a lady traveling on her own.
3) My bed was comfy
4) The room was nice
Cons:
1) As a single female traveler, I felt a bit uneasy with all of the men at the hotel. Most were there for work.
2) The smokers all stand at the front door and smoke. So, when entering or exiting the hotel, I had to walk through groups of people smoking. Surely there should be a designated smoking area which is not the hotel entry? Why is it not being used?
3) The breakfast was super basic and mostly quite unhealthy. The chopped fruit was clearly a few days old.
4) My room must have had a technical room above it as there was constant creaking and expanding sounds. It’s a shame as there is NO noise from the highway, but the room itself was really not suitable for accommodation. I had a really bad night sleep on both nights.

The room was big enough, the beds were comfortable, everything was clean. The service at reception was very friendly and breakfast had everything you could need: coffee machine, juices, milk, tea, jams, eggs, cheese, sausage, rolls, toast, croissants, fruit salad, yoghurt... if you don't get full here, it's probably your own fault. The only minor drawback was the parking situation. Parking in the hotel complex should be much cheaper.

We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel.
The staff is very friendly, the rooms comfortable and clean and the parking is onsite and free.
The included breakfast was fine.
Of course there is always room for improvement. In this case an inroom safe and some extra pillows would be appreciated.
Besides breakfast there is not really a restaurant, just a bar area, where you can order some snacks, like Pizza's.
Its on the outskirts of Deventer, in a industrial estate, but its new, clean and very friendly.
I suppose you do need a car.
Its only a few minutes drive to Deventer centre, where we used the convenient central car park.
Nature reserve "Sallandse Heuvelrug" with nice walking trails is an easy 20 minutes drive and nature reserve "De Veluwe" is about 40 minutes drive away, which is very much recommend.

Excellent location for us visiting Deventer. Our room was really quiet considering it’s not far from a busy motorway. The room was very clean, spacious, comfortable beds, very clean bathroom with comfortable bedding & fluffy towels. The guy on duty was very friendly & very helpful. Good safe parking facilities for our car. Breakfast was as expected, good choices with spacious dinning area. Not too far to drive into Deventer & directions are easy to follow.

Well priced hotel with everything you need for short stay. Breakfast included, rooms clean and well presented. We were extremely lucky with our manager (Teo) who could not do enough to make our stay so memorable. This hotel is no designed for a long romantic stay but excellent if you want a clean, well priced hotel with good access the Deventer.
