We would like to welcome you in Grand Boutique Hotel "Huis Vermeer"!!

The history of our three monumental buildings, throws you far back in time. In 1880, the 'Deventer' banker J. Vermeer, gave architect W.C. Metzelaar the job to convert the establishment, where we are in right now, to his place to residence.

Restaurant

The dining room is richly decorated with ceiling and wall paintings dating late 18th century. The wooden sliding doors which give access to the bar and the conservatory, are from the same period. A precious detail is the carpet in the dining room, which is a reflection of the ornaments on the ceiling. These beautiful details can also be found in our chapel and rooms.

Our cuisine is refines and boasts a range of culinary possibilities

Chapel

In 1895 the left side of the house was extended with banker Vermeer's house chapel which is now the reception of our hotel. This room is has been assigned by the Dutch government as official monument. The Neogothic panelling is restored to its original glory, as well as the fireplace. Naughty detail...The facade of our hotel features the Latin words 'DEVS AVXIT' which means as much as 'God Multiplies'. We will never know what Mr. Vermeer meant by this. Did he mean posterity or prosperity??

Lounge

Next to the reception you will find our 'Lounge' which is a multifunctional room. As hotel guest you can use the room for your well needed relaxation after shopping en sightseeing whilst enjoying a drink and a titbit. The Lounge can also be booked for your private dinner or meeting.

A special corner is reserved for our gift shop, where you find attractively priced jewellery.

Conservatory and Courtyard

Our 'Conservatory' is tastefully decorated. The glass rooftop brightens up the room and ensures "the sun is always shining", also because the gold-leaf in the paintwork.

Through the immense doors you will find our 'Courtyard' with our walled terrace with authentic details. Here you can enjoy your morning coffee, lunch or dinner.

A fantastic hotel where the service still feels truly authentic, a truly grand boutique hotel experience. It was our wedding location and we experienced a great sense of hospitality and warm welcome, as did our guests. The room 'Under the wooden beams' is a beautiful, atmospheric, spacious room with a nice bathroom that offers everything; bath, separate shower and luxurious toilet. It has a view of the Lebuines Church and in the evening the square and the church are beautifully illuminated. All the staff are genuinely friendly. There is a nice indoor garage space near the hotel, where unloading is possible at the door, very handy during a wedding. Breakfast is beautifully served and can also be enjoyed in the room, but we opted for the attractive restaurant area with a view of the pleasant courtyard. The combination of the beautiful hotel, the genuinely friendly staff and the delicious restaurant has given our wedding days a very beautiful, warm and emotional atmosphere & memories. We couldn't have wished for better and immediately booked a weekend for the summer upon departure. This grand boutique hotel provides an experience that you will want to experience!

The rooms are beautiful and very nicely done up to high boutique quality- not opulent but a very good standard. All the products are Rituals branded and we had an beautiful view of the old Cathedral in front of the hotel, so also very scenic and chic.

The staff are outstanding though- they were always so friendly, helpful and genuinely so pleasant that it just made everything feel so much nicer. I really would go back- overall, we were very happy, especially with the staff.

We booked the family room, an attractively furnished room on two floors. On the upper floor there are two single beds, a sink and mobile air conditioning, on the lower floor there is a twin bed and a bathroom with both a shower and bath, two sinks and a toilet. Rituals at the sinks, the shower and the bath. In-room coffee (Nespresso with sufficient cups) and tea facilities. Minibar available in the hallway (didn't use it). Bathrobes and fabric bath slippers in the room. A welcome card on the bed and some snacks including the Deventer cookie, very nice! The staff in the hotel and restaurant are fantastic, so welcoming helpful and attentive. Breakfast is served and can be ordered unlimitedly. The sandwiches were wonderfully fresh and warm. For us, the many steps were a disadvantage because one of us walks with a walker... But we had a wonderful stay in a beautiful place!

Hotel Vermeer in Deventer enchanted us with its excellent service and beautiful ambiance. From the luxurious breakfast to the friendly and helpful staff, every aspect of our stay was memorable. The rooms were an oasis of comfort and the perfect city center location made exploring the city an enjoyable experience. Without a doubt a hotel we highly recommend.

The Huis Vermeer experience is exceptional; as a frequent business traveler of many years spanning many countries I can honestly say this hotel ranks as one of the best for overall satisfaction. Of particular note all the staff who make the stay so welcoming and enjoyable to the comfort levels of the rooms and also the extreme high end quality of the restaurant. All of this for a reasonable price suggests recommendation is necessary. Do not miss the opportunity. I shall look forward to my next visit. Kevin UK.

Lovely hotel with friendly staff. We were there for a weekend and stayed in the fantastic Grand Suite with a view of the church.
We really couldn't think of anything that could be improved.
Breakfast is a treat, in a beautiful atmosphere the staff ensures that you lack nothing. At the table you get the tastiest sandwiches, fresh orange juice, coffee or tea, sufficient toppings (egg, cheese, sausage, fish, sweets, etc.) and ordering more is no problem.
We parked the car in the private parking garage within walking distance, which was very easy.
The hotel restaurant is highly recommended. The 5-course dinner is an accumulation of taste sensations that you must experience. The kitchen is flexible and has provided us with a vegetarian and vegan experience.
The hostesses and hostesses understand their profession and are the wish of every employer.
Our thanks go to the friendly staff of this wonderful hotel.

Carefully renovated hotel with very clean rooms. The beds are new and the linen is also new. The bathroom is also like being in a showroom, everything tip top. The staff are very friendly and personable, nothing is too much for them. Breakfast is served at the table as a mini buffet with freshly squeezed orange juice and is sufficiently extensive. There is an elevator and a private parking garage.

Very nice, individually furnished hotel in old walls in a central location in Deventer. Each room is different and decorated in the style of the hotel.
There is no need to take the steep, narrow stairs - there is an elevator available.
The breakfast service could be a bit more attentive.

Since I am a very light sleeper, I switched my booked Grande luxury room for a "quiet" terrace/garden room (no.4.) Price would be the same.
It is not for nothing that earplugs in box on bedside table. I slept above the kitchen and the extractor was on the roof next to my room. With own earplugs slept wonderfully. Perhaps make 4/5 pieces of curtain into two curtains.? The privacy in this room is difficult with open curtains, likewise on the shaft side where anyone can walk past, so a lot with curtains closed.
