We would like to welcome you in Grand Boutique Hotel "Huis Vermeer"!!
The history of our three monumental buildings, throws you far back in time. In 1880, the 'Deventer' banker J. Vermeer, gave architect W.C. Metzelaar the job to convert the establishment, where we are in right now, to his place to residence.
Restaurant
The dining room is richly decorated with ceiling and wall paintings dating late 18th century. The wooden sliding doors which give access to the bar and the conservatory, are from the same period. A precious detail is the carpet in the dining room, which is a reflection of the ornaments on the ceiling. These beautiful details can also be found in our chapel and rooms.
Our cuisine is refines and boasts a range of culinary possibilities
Chapel
In 1895 the left side of the house was extended with banker Vermeer's house chapel which is now the reception of our hotel. This room is has been assigned by the Dutch government as official monument. The Neogothic panelling is restored to its original glory, as well as the fireplace. Naughty detail...The facade of our hotel features the Latin words 'DEVS AVXIT' which means as much as 'God Multiplies'. We will never know what Mr. Vermeer meant by this. Did he mean posterity or prosperity??
Lounge
Next to the reception you will find our 'Lounge' which is a multifunctional room. As hotel guest you can use the room for your well needed relaxation after shopping en sightseeing whilst enjoying a drink and a titbit. The Lounge can also be booked for your private dinner or meeting.
A special corner is reserved for our gift shop, where you find attractively priced jewellery.
Conservatory and Courtyard
Our 'Conservatory' is tastefully decorated. The glass rooftop brightens up the room and ensures "the sun is always shining", also because the gold-leaf in the paintwork.
Through the immense doors you will find our 'Courtyard' with our walled terrace with authentic details. Here you can enjoy your morning coffee, lunch or dinner.
Super hotel. This is our 3rd stay, we love to stay here when we visit our Dutch friends/family. The rooms are super, the bed is comfy, and the service is amazing. On our last morning, we needed breakfast a bit earlier and this was no problem. Can't wait for our next visit to the Netherlands and stay for the 4th time!
This boutique hotel provides a warm, friendly welcome, room was extremely comfortable and well equipped. Food and drinks in the hotel are of a high standard, well priced. Overall my stay was very enjoyable. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to business and also private stay reasons.
The rooms are beautiful and very nicely done up to high boutique quality- not opulent but a very good standard. All the products are Rituals branded and we had an beautiful view of the old Cathedral in front of the hotel, so also very scenic and chic. The staff are outstanding though- they were always so friendly, helpful and genuinely so pleasant that it just made everything feel so much nicer. I really would go back- overall, we were very happy, especially with the staff.
We stayed here regrettably for 1 night and not more. This place gives you, comfort, pampering, excellent service and more. We did also eat in the restaurant which was amazing top quality food 5*I will post on their restaurant page. I cannot praise this place anymore.... they have luxury and comfort down to a T.
Great experience, all was at highest level: service, food, atmosphere, interior and the surprises of the menu. We selected the 4 dishes surprise menu, can really recommend this (for us it was among others: radish/red-root, gilt-head bream, smoked eel, deer with chocolate sauce, and desert of Orange based sweets/ice)
We stayed at this hotel before and were very enthusiastic then. We wondered whether our high expectations would be met, they were even exceeded. In this hotel they know what service is. Every detail has been thought of. Dinner, breakfast, drinks in the garden, the rooms, the professional and friendly team. Everything is very good.
We came to the hotel and were greeted by a friendly receptionist, we got a small tour around the hotel, telling us a bit about the history, after that we were escorted to our room. We had a room with a balcony, on the sunny and quiet side of the hotel (room 4), which looked lovely, with a spacious bathroom.... It has large windows, so on very hot days this is not the room to chose (they do provide mobile airco units, just in case), however during our stay it was fine.... As it is an old house you do have some noise during the evening when the kitchen is preparing the food, however that was finished by the time we reached our room to go to sleep. The dinner here is a very good option, we really enjoyed it with a good waiter, that helped us well and advised us well on the few non alchoholic wines that were available. The breakfast also was good, again friendly staff and a good choice of food, more than enough and it is all served at your table. So in all we would come here again, the location is great, their parking is not too far either, the staff is friendly, the food is good and the rooms are fine too. One of my best stays in The Netherlands so far.…
Service and Style both with capital 'S'. This was a superb stay. Overdelivering on high expectations. The breakfast experience was part of that too (brought to the table, no buffet), the luxuriously decorated rooms and the delicious dinner.
Big believer in fate, stay with me. Was on a business trip to a nearby hospital, colleague already book in somewhere but the hotel was full, my office called and said we found you somewhere else instead. Arrived on a dead Sunday night in the rain and could see the only building with lights on, looked welcoming and cozy, it was. Everyones taste is different obs, but for me perfect, small, quiet great simple breakfast, bread, cheese, ham, fanatic coffee and of course a glass of Cave. I invited my 3 colleagues over for dinner on one night, very flexible menu, 3, 4 or 5 courses and an oyster and sashimi set menu too. Very high standard of cooking, thanks to the kitchen > exceptional. And the icing on the cake, the staff, so many times great places of potential are let down by the staff. Not here, friendly, cool and laid back. Attention to detail too, i was a bit late for breakfast one morning and there was some cleaning happening in the lobby, the doors around me were closed immediately. Just fine detail that matters. So, many thanks to all the staff.…
Had one night at this Hotel on a business trip. A hotel full of character, great bedroom and a fantastic meal in the evening with colleagues, This hotel has a great location in the town and I would stop again next time I am in the area.
