Have stayed here before and was equally pleased the second time. Super clean, friendly, nice breakfast, and comfortable. Highly recommend you adding this to your itinerary! Loved the location with rental boats, tour boats, or foot path readily available. Was able to cook our own dinner in a well equipped kitchen area. There is also seating outside and easy parking on the premises. Will definitely be back. Thank you for your great hospitality!!

Great place if you're looking for a simple night in the center of giethoorn. We had a comfortable sleep there, everything was clean and hosts were really nice (helping to prepare breakfast and very open to discuss and give good advices for our trip).

What a great place to stay! Clean and comfy rooms, clean and modern toilets and showers and a wonderful spacious garden with a marvelous view of the canal (check it during "return" time to have fun). Together with the most friendly hosts a must visit.

Thanks for taking the trouble to review us Lisa! (Least we can do is take the trouble to acknowledge that, albeit half a year later... ๐Ÿ˜…) Glad to hear you'd happily stay again, and found our place clean and comfortable -mission accomplished!

Stayed here with friends for 2 nights and donโ€™t wanna leave here, such a paradise and quiet. Itโ€™s the best place for relax & vacation. Services & facilities 1. The owner very lovely, kind and polite. She allowed all customers to pick grapes, apples and all fruits in her backyard for free, unbelievable ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ’• 2. The owner allowed us to check in early for free once we arrived approx 1pm 3. Thereโ€™s a kitchen for you to cook(highly recommended), just buy your stuffs at supermarket which far from the place approx 15-20 mins walk Location 1. Only 7-10 mins walk from the bus stop 2. Quiet because the placeโ€™s not located it the main road. 3. Next to the Smit Giethoorn, itโ€™s a boat rental company. 4. Front and beside the hostel is around with the cannel so, super relax with a cup of coffee in early morning & small picnic and see tourist in the afternoon If I have chance to come back then I will stay 3-4 nights ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ‘โ€ฆ

We had a car and had a bit of difficulty finding this place. However everyone we talked to were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Upon arrival there was sufficient parking, we had a warm welcome and found everything to be perfect!! So clean and neat. Loved it here and would definitely stay here again. Breakfast was ample, showers great, and location was amazing. We walked the canals and loved every minute or our stay!!

Giethoorn is small, so I understand why people do day trips, but I can really recommend staying overnight, because the atmosphere in Giethoorn is very magical once the day tourists are gone and when it starts getting dark. At the hostel I met really awesome people and had a great time with them in and around Giethoorn. There is a small garden you can just hang around in and just let yourself be carried away by the magical and mystical atmosphere of Giethoorn. You really feel as if youโ€™ve gone some place from a fairytale. The people from the hostel were very helpful and the hostel is in the most beautiful part of Giethoorn! Would always come back!

The Black Sheep hostel is one of the best hostel i have ever stayed in my travel life. 1) Great personalities Jimmy and Ghea (the owners). Both are very friendly and speak Mandarin, and English. Jimmy speaks Indonesian too! 2) Quaint and very quiet. The hostel is just a short stone throw away from a restaurant. 3) A kitchen for you to cook and make meals. 4) Excellent breakfast! 5) Very comfortable and clean bed! 6) Very clean toilets with very useful shelves in the shower cubicles to avoid your things get wet! Nice idea! 7) Easy to locate via Google Map. 8) Booking was easy. My emails were replied in a personal way and promptly. 9) There is a garage where you can park your bike. (I actually cycled from Amsterdam to this place. Yes, 120km) I will definitely come back with my GF (or wife for honeymoon!!!!). This is a place that you should not miss. Don't come as a tourist, but as a traveler and this place will provide the platform for you to experience the beauty of the place.โ€ฆ

The Black Sheep hostel definitely positively surprised us. The hosts are really nice and helpful. The atmosphere is really good, rooms and bathroom are clean, new and nicely furnished. It has an awesome common room, with a huge black board ๐Ÿ˜Š If you will be visiting Giethoorn we definitely recommend you come here.
