We didn't stay here, but we rented a boat from De Harmonie with a small group of friends. The owners were lovely, cheerful, and helpful. The 3-hour rental/tour was excellent. Very handily, they have an app to map your route so you can get back to the property without a problem. We had a great time, and thought the service was top notch.

This hotel attracts a lot of attention across many review sites but I just didn’t work out why. It is nice enough but extremely average. They make a great deal about the location and some rooms having exceptional canal views, but even these are underwhelming. The rooms are clean, small, and rather dated. The breakfast is adequate but not outstanding in any way.

What a lovely place ! The hotel is located a little bit out of the village of Giethoorn. The place is really nice and quiet. The owner was welcoming and gave me good advises. The room was nice and clean. At breakfast, I've received a plate with several breads and delicatessen in place of the buffet. It was excellent ! For me, this is a great place and I recommend it for a break !

A family owned hotel that provided a friendly, personal touch. The moment we walked into the lobby we were greeted with a warm welcome and smile. Not just the owner, but her entire staff treated us the same way. The rooms were comfortable and very clean, a mini fridge in the room was also very convenient. The morning complimentary breakfast was very adequate, offering many choices. Located a few km’s from central Giethoorn, it was very quiet and peaceful place to come back to at the end of the day. The restaurant was wonderful, I enjoyed a delicious salmon dinner.

It was a rainy day, but Jan and Katinka went out of their way to make it an unforgettable experience, regardless of the weather. Jan gave us a very interesting tour of the village and the park and not only helped us stay dry, but also made sure we get to warm up at their fireplace when we returned. Thank you!

We had a great stay at De Harmonie. The owners were very friendly and helpful. We spent a fantastic day on their rental bikes in the morning and on their rental boat in the afternoon - an amazing experience. If you get the chance, we definitely recommend both activities. Thank you so much for everything.

Hotel du Harmonie is a wonderful peaceful place to stay. It is located in a quite area south of Steenwijk. You can take a 70 bus direct from the train station to the hotel. Rooms are basic but functional and clean. Nice boat rental which we did and bike rental which we did not have time to do. Dinner was also enjoyable. Recommended.

The hotel is run by a friendly, helpful and energetic host. Lovely location a bit outside of the town but you can rent a boat and have awesome trip. Some rooms have terrace on canal view. Our room was tidy and breakfast was good enough. Do recommend that place.

Horrible! The owner of the hotel is very rude and loudly. We came for 1 night and the room was dusty. At the beginning, she even didn’t let us to park out of the hotel.
Really poor hotel - do yourself a favour, and don’t come here!! The price is not worth it…

Yesterday I went to this hotel for some information about renting a boat. My daughter (9yrs) wanted to go to the toilet after an one hour drive so she already walked to the hotel/ restaurant first. She asked the lady (owner) if she can use the toilet and she shouted at her "no it's forbidden! It's not a public toilet!" Because I had to park the car I entered the hotel/ restaurant just 1 minute later, and didn't know what was happened before. I asked the lady if they rent a boat and she said "yes, come on to this side of the desk." So I told my daughter she could use the toilet, while I got some information to rent the boat. Then the lady said, "NO no! It's not a public toilet!" With an unfriendly voice. So I was shocked and my daughter cried because of her unexpected reaction and we walked away. They didn't deserve our money so at the end I went to their neighbours (no 50), which were so kindly and hired the boat at their place. So when you are with kids, please be aware of this lady, because she is not child friendly at all. The hotel calls Harmonie, but It wasn't in 'harmony' at all!

We thank you for your request, our beds are 210 cm / 7 ft. All our Deluxe have Kings beds. All other rooms have twin rooms.

Hi there. You'd have to contact the hotel directly to find out if any of the rooms have king size beds as the room we were in was a standard one and the beds were twins. Definitely not made for a larger individual. Hope this helps!
There are more places to choose from in the Giethoorn area.
