When we arrived, it was a warm welcome from the ladys at the desk. But we had some question and an additional reservation and a gentleman who was sitting in front on the computer interrupted several times in an unacceptable manner. Not solution orientated and without wearing a uniform. We asked for the Hotelparking and he replied immediately that it is the only place that will be available. He did not offer any options, like the cheap parking outside the barrier or something different. The request for an additional Reservation was immediately replied with "we are fully booked, we have no options". Later on i did en online reservation via booking.com and after a lot of nerves used, we got the room from the very friendly lady at the desk. And finally, the gentleman made a joke about a gayparade and if we will join it. Sorry, but if i invest about 2000€ for a group of 15 person, i expect a different attitude and a very more professional behavior of this gentleman. Unfortunately, i still don't know who he was but im shure that Sophie from the desk will remember the situation. And an other detail: we got a room which wasn't cleaned. Thanks for a feedback from your side!

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. While I wish you had a better experience, it is feedback like this that we learn from and use to improve. We work hard to deliver an exceptional guest experience, and it's apparent in this case that we fell short. If you give us a chance to earn back your trust, I can assure you that we will do our best to give you the great hotel experience that so many of our guests have grown so fond of. Sincerely, Campaniel Zwolle

This hotel is really more of a very basic youth hostel. Hair dryer did not work, man at the desk couldn't care less and didn't offer any solution. One Iron for whole hotel.
For 3 nights towels were only changed once, bed duvet covers are torn in both corners, pillows were very small. General rude male manager like figure.

No food after breakfast untill evening.
Generally very disappointing

Staff very helpful and friendly, reception area was nice but once we we left this area it was a real disappointment. Corridors were very dark and uninviting, rooms were not much better. The beds were clean and comfortable but to say the rooms and bathrooms were dated and basic is an understatement. Lighting in the room and bathroom was terrible, expected so much more for what the hotel cost, wouldn't give any more than 2 stars

The hotel is very centrally located at walking distance from city center and all to see in Zwolle. The rooms are small and in need of a makeover. Lot of noise from trucks at the backside. Bathroom and room were not up to standard.
Breakfast was okay. Breakfast was reasonable

Dear guest, I am very sorry to hear that our manager was not friendly to you at all! Every hotel has their own pay policy. Our policy is that every guest has to pay upon check-in. In the end you have to pay, and we had some guest in the past who did not pay for their room. That is why we changed our policy. I hope you understand. I am glad that you are satisfied with our staff and our breakfast. We hope to welcome you again. Kind regards,

The hotel has an easy to find location and a very friendly staff. Rooms are comfortable and at the front have a pleasant canalside view. The surrounding district is very interesting and it is well worth while visiting nearby places such as Kampen, Blokzijl, Geithorn and Staphorst. My wife and I thoroiughly enjoyed our stay there and will be going back very soon.

Nothing liked being awakened at 8am by washers banging on your window. Then having the cleaning staff barge in on you in bed at 9am. Then having a repair man barge in at 9:15 "by mistake". Then having them yell at you for complaining. Do not stay here if you value privacy or want to get some sleep. Also the room was so dusty it triggered an allergy attack.

Hotel is alright...rooms adequate.
Restaurant downstairs is actually really good....great value, eat there! If you book that is...Because:

Unfortunately, I went out for the day, and left my iPod Touch sitting on the desk. The room was definitely locked...but still it went missing. I've never had a situation like this before. BEWARE dodgy Cleaning service. They outsource the service, so they claim no responsibility for it. I made a claim with the police, but felt everyone should know....this is not a very responsible hotel for safety.

The room absolutely stank of cigarette smoke and I really mean stank, like 50 cigarettes had been smoked with all windows closed, it gave us a headache, it was that bad, shocking, I could not believe it. What is ironic, when you check in the registration paper you need to sign says: "as by Dutch law, if you smoking in our hotel we have to charge you 175 euro cleaning cost and the penalty from the government of 300 euro"!
The person on duty (Ben) was not helpful at all, disgraceful, in fact he should not be in the hotel service industry, not willing to change the room for us and then telling us a huge lie, "he has a special machine that can remove the smoke". Ben, you should patent the "machine" and you can make millions.
The towels and sheets were stained and hair from previous guests too. The hotel parking is a joke, only about 6 car spots for a hotel with 69 rooms!
Overall, do yourself a favour and stay away from this one.
