Beautiful hotel with very clean, comfortable rooms and super friendly staff. The hotel is a few minutes walk from the station and city centre. It’s in a beautiful building. I really enjoyed my stay here. The garden behind the hotel has lots of private seating. The various groups of tables and chairs are separated by plants and bushes. The staff goes out of their way to help you with anything. I had forgotten my toothpaste and no problem. They also happily stored my luggage after checking out. Breakfast is buffet style with plenty seating, including outside during good weather. In the rooms you have a kettle, coffee and tea. I am already looking forward to my next stay :-)

7 ageing bikers turn up. Made very welcome by friendly and professional staff. Rooms are good with a free fan supplied for cooling. Restaurant and bar are very good with a nice garden to have a drink in. Only a 10 minute walk to the station and 15 minutes to the town centre. If you enjoy whisky this is the place to be. Have booked already for next year

We stayed for 1 night in this boutique hotel, en route to Germany. We booked the Burgundy arrangement which included room, breakfast and a 3-course meal at the hotel restaurant. Upon check-in, we were upgraded to a spacious room with 4 poster, queen-sized bed and charming decoration. Bathrobes, slippers, hairdryer were provided. Bathroom looked dated. Unfortunately the mattress dipped slightly in the middle. We did provide feedback upon checkout. Dinner at the hotel’s restaurant was fantastic! I wouldn’t give that a miss. The hotel bar also boasts the widest selection of whiskey collection in Zwolle. So if you’re a fan, it’s the bar to be in. Breakfast the next day was also lovely with a good selection of hot and cold breakfast plus very good coffee. As a tea lover, I was spoilt with so many choices of loose tea. Staff were always friendly and service was always with a smile. There’s free street parking right in front of the hotel. Note that the hotel doesn’t have a lift, we only had one luggage so it wasn’t a problem carrying it up the first floor.

Spent a night here before visiting nearby Dinoland with grandson. Staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and enjoyed chatting to a very excited 3 year old. Menu, whilst not extensive, was all freshly cooked. Pork belly burger, sea bass and salmon enjoyed by all. Amazing whisky selection of around 370 to choose from, impressing this lady from Scotland! Decor traditional old Dutch style. Just lovely and worth a visit.

Great service. Lovely helpful staff and a good breakfast. Nice outdoor area for enjoying a drink or a meal. Very close to the town and within walking distance of the train station. We rented bicycles and the staff were very helpful organising everything

This hotel is very nice for people who like the charm of past days. This gives it a special cosy atmosphere - but you must of course like the style. The rooms were very clean, a bit dim in terms of lighting, but this is part of the style. There is a very nice big table where you can sit and have drinks and snacks till late at night, in a somehow private kind of atmosphere, almost like at home, which gives the hotel a special added value.

Stayed for 2 nights. Room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. All staff were friendly and helpful. Great choice at breakfast with lovely fresh ingredients. Nice shady garden terrace to sit in. Did not eat in the restaurant as they were closed due to holidays. Only a 10 minute walk from the train station, restaurants and old town is about 15 minutes walk.

Rooms spacious and restaurant cosy. Just a charming place overall. We enjoyed our visit. Staff very friendly, attentive and helpful. Location was perfect for us. One drawback is that a lot of rooms require access only by stairs.

I stayed at the Best Western Hotel Fidder in May 2018. The Hotel Fidder is about a 10 minute walk from the railway station, and 10 - 15 minutes from the centre of Zwolle. The room I stayed in (room 18) was great. From the ground floor reception you walk a few yards (maybe 25), and then have to take about 8 steps up. Some of the other rooms might be a problem for anyone with mobility issues, as there is no lift. In the room there are the usual facilities - comfortable bed, good TV, wi-fi (the wi-fi was excellent - I found websites downloaded really quickly) and a wardrobe. Other amenities in the room (that a lot of hotels don't provide) were a kettle, with a supply of tea and coffee, a fan ( this was welcome, as I stayed during a hot period) and an iron and ironing board. There is also a small safe in the room (key on request from reception). This safe is really quite small, but it's big enough for a couple of passports and a couple of wallets - the things that you really do want to keep secure. The bathroom was quite small, but everything worked well. The bathroom is re-stocked daily with towels and toiletries. Along with the normal toiletries there were nice little extras like a shower cap and a sewing kit. The hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful. One of the great selling points for Hotel Fidder is the inclusive breakfast. The selection was very impressive. There were cereals, fresh bread with all the toppings you could wish for, a selection of cold meats and cheeses. Hot dishes included bacon, sausages, scrambled eggs and tomatoes and mushrooms. The coffee served with breakfast was excellent. I'm sure I've forgotten some of the dishes available - there was so much to choose from, and everything I tried was of the highest standard. This has to be one of the best breakfasts I've had in any hotel. As mentioned by other people, this hotel is quite an old building (I believe it was built at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries). The decor is a little aged in places, but nothing major, and in fact I felt it added character. Had everything been brand new, it would have looked kind of out of place. All the fixtures and fittings were of perfectly good quality, and everything worked well. I would recommend this hotel to anyone - I thought it was great value for my stay in Zwolle
