We had the suite with a nice duo bath, great view, privacy, big shower and all the comfort one expects From Vandervalk. It is not the ultimate luxury but the halls and restaurants are lovely decorated, staff friendly and it worths his 4 stars plenty. SUGGESTION: it would be nice to fill the minibar (also) with some COLA ZERO, almost nobody wants nowadays to get in ONE drink the whole sigar ratio for a day (36 g )!

The product is good. The rooms are nice, breakfast okay. The dinner in the restaurant was good. The customer service could use sone improvement. We checked in 3 hours before check-in time and understand that there may not be a room available, but despite of an empty lobby, the receptionist told us ; the rooms are being cleaned and check in is at 3 pm, without as much as checking if there was a room ready. And there was no locked baggage room for our luggage, but we could leave it in the lobby and was assured someone was always there, which we didn’t feel great about so we didn’t. If it’s location suits you the product is okay and the restaurant is good and if you don’t expect a home away from home then I would recommend it.

Lobby looks nice. Shower water kept going from hot to cold. Cleanliness of shower and condition of room furniture was only so so. Very inflexible with free drink voucher (nice gesture) bar was already closed and we asked if we couldn’t get a water from the fridge in the lobby instead and were told no in a rude tone from the reception.

In the past the Van der Valk restaurant staff at other Van der Valk hotels we have stayed at have always asked if we wanted to charge our meals to our room or immediately pay for them. On our first night following a rather long drive we thought it would just be easier to charge our dinner to our room. They refused to do that and demanded immediate payment. I went to get my credit card and was gone so long my wife was worried about me - I am 71-years old with a few health problems. The restaurant staff restrained my wife in the restaurant preventing her from coming to check on my well-being. This was on the first night of a four night stay! I spoke with a restaurant manager and I think the ladies working reception had the same problem with his explanation as I had because they went out of their way to make amends for the way we were treated by the restaurant staff.

Very nice stay
The breakfast was amazing ( freshly squeezed orange juice)
The beds were comfortable
The rooms were clean and tidy.
The staff were very nice and accommodating everything for the kids .. thank you for that

Location is the only issue ( not a problem if you have a car) although a bus ( not cheap and pay with a credit car no cash) station is just 5 mn walk away if you want to go to the city center.

The location for this hotel is poor. It is some distance north of Amersfoort. Having completed a long journey and being tired upon arrival, I took a taxi from the railway station. The charge was 54 euros! Once established I used the bus, cost at 3 euro's.
Upon arrival I quoted the discount code I had been provided with. One receptionist found it on the system whilst another curtly said it did not exist. Ultimately it was not applied.
My room was good but I noticed the safe box was closed/locked. I reported this to reception who said it would be attended to. It was not, thus I had no security facility throughout my stay.
Following my check-out, I noted the fluctuating room rate over the thee days I stayed. When I queried this I was told ... 'The varying amounts you see for the charges labeled as 'Overnachting' are due to our dynamic pricing policy. Our room rates can fluctuate daily, depending on the hotels occupancy and demand. This is why the rates may differ from one night to another'.
I was subsequently charged more than I was quoted when I booked. How is this legal?

I have been here many times as this hotel is close to the offices I need to go to. But the disappointment is lately very much increasing.
Receptionists seem young and inexperienced but mostly distant and can be even rude. The two last times we were staying here one of our leaders was treated very poorly at the restaurant (had to ask 5 times ! for his drink, food and the check). Couldn’t check while he arrived at 7pm. My room today (511) is dirty and the fridge is full of disgusting left overs. They offered to change me to another one for disabled as the hotel was full. The only good thing left is the breakfast if you ask me. But I will avoid to come back from now on.

It is a very nice and clean hotel. We had a comfortable room and there are friendly staff who speak English.

There is a large car park around the back and the EV charger was easy to use. We did not eat there but the dining area looked nice. I would definitely use it again.

I didn’t Pre-book a room, just turned up on the day, very friendly staff and really nice hotel with great facilities with a gym too.
Jennifer on one of the reception desk was great and also let me borrow her Uk-EU plug adapter as I forgot mine. Couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay!

Room, bath etc. where OK. Air condition worked not that well. No option to open a windows but somebody thought it is a good idea to heat the room up. Was unable to fix it to a certain temperature till I went to bed; During check in I got a room which was taken by another guest. Found out very late as it was still very clean but then found another bag... Got an upgrade to a room with free minibar but such was close to empty. BEsides of that food in the restaurant was good, Breakfast to expensive for what oyu get in my opinion. all in all fine for me to stay for one night during a business trip

Hi, the hotel is located in an Commercial (Office) Zone. If you open Google Maps, you will find some space around the hotel, parking on the streets. Sunday should not be a problem at all due to offices closed.
