If you're keen to visit the Poas Volcano and La Paz Waterfall Gardens (both of which we'd recommend highly), then the location of this lodge can't be beaten. This lovely place is set in nice grounds on one side of a working dairy farm. The common areas/lounge are lovely and the rooms a beautifully appointed, spacious and quiet. Food in...

My wife and I stayed at this lodge for 5 nights following a cruise through the Panama Canal. I had contacted the lodge months before we went, and they are very responsive to email messages. We had lined up tours every day, and the lodge provided a private guide for the 2 of us (muchas gracias Wilbert!!). They are very...

We were only here for one night, but this is a great place to stay with lovely views from the property and some good options for walking. Our room was clean and thoughtfully outfitted; it included a kettle, coffee press and supplies, and they even put a hot-water bottle in our bed when they turned it down for us! We...

The Poás Volcano Lodge is an amazing choice to stay if you want to see the Volcano Poás or the La Paz Waterfall Gardens. We really enjoyed our night there and we could have stayed at least one night longer because we liked the lodge so much. The rooms are very nice and comfy, but it can get quite cold...

This was a stopover for us and we were so glad we stayed! We had a beautiful room overlooking the garden with an ensuite shower that was full glass windows. The bed was super comfortable and with the beams and sloped ceiling you knew you were not in a chain hotel. There are hiking trails, but it was rainy and...

Arrived here after a long and occasionally challenging drive from Monteverde. Lovely lodge - located down a farm track and nestling on the side of a hill with a view of the volcano. Check in was quick and efficient and friendly. Room (Toucanet/Room 4) was in the lodge and very spacious, clean, plenty of storage space, had in room safe,...

We had a room inside the lodge which was gorgeous and the whole living room and lobby were decorated for Xmas which made this a lovely homely hotel. The food in the restaurant was quite good, the staff were great and our tour was really fun and educational.

This hotel really takes it above and beyond!!! For breakfast you get homemade yogurt and fresh picked strawberries on top of choosing your main dish. Because it was raining a little and we wanted to hike a trail nearby, they had rainboots for us to borrow so our shoes wouldn't get all muddy!! They have a game room with pool...
