location fabulous , parking a pain due to a non booking policy so you cant reserve a spot, from the outside the building is to die for , reception area beautiful, upper floors tired and rooms are like cupboards, paper thin walls, huge concrete beams that i had to climb under in order to get into bed.

right in middle of old town ghent, near all the attractions, restaurants etc, the hotel itself is two building which feels a bit quirky, and be warned, although no mention of it before hand, but if driving, they offer car parking, then charge you for it,ok for a couple of nights,

This hotel is certainly in the best possible location in Ghent - smack bang in the centre of the old town, with a walk to the square and Castle in about 10 seconds! The price was reasonable for the location, and I think these were both huge positives about the place. The negatives however were a bit too plentiful. We...

We spent three nights at the Hotel Gravensteen. It is very nicely located in the center of the old town. The rooms are spacy and clean. Beds comfortable. The breakfast is superb! Getting to the hotel by car was an adventure!! Road constructions and pedestrian street makes it difficult to find park at the hotel. You must enter the pedestrian...

This is a hidden gem of a hotel, tucked down a side street next to Gravensteen Castle, and within very easy walking distance of the centre. I wasn't sure it would be very nice on first impressions - there was a bit of a damp smell on arrival, and my room seemed to be in an extension of the hotel...

Apart from the nightmare to find their carpark in the labyrinthine one-way system of Ghent, when we finally arrived the chilly receptionist suggested we just had to deal with it, 'yes it's a hassle' and made no attempt at welcome (read: smile with the mouth only). These things you only register a bit later, and there's nothing to be done...

Nice hotel in an excellent location but there was a general feeling of shabbiness. Small selection of daily newspapers. Excellent breakfast with wide choice of items. Helpful staff. Poor WIFI. Choice of international English-language TV channels poor and many listed channels not available giving the impression that the hotel was behind in its payments. Phone line in room did not...

City sights literally on door step. Castle across road from hotel. We were in room 81 on 3rd (top) floor of annex. There is a lift. Room is spacious with large comfy bed. Bath/shower. Radiators to bedroom and bathroom with easy thermostat controls. Desk with 2 chairs. Darkened curtains effective control. Breakfast room on 1st floor was light and airy....

Prime location in beautiful Gent!! Absolutely loved the history and architecture of the city. The hotel itself was okay, no frills, but I was put up in the secondary Bland building to the back which wasn't made explicit when I made the booking. Hotel staff was nice and polite!
