We arrived after a rather stressful journey through Bruges as the city has major roads closed with the signs only written in Flemish, not French, so difficult to understand the diversions. Would have been helpful if this had been pointed out by email when we made our booking. Our room was a canal view deluxe on the other side of...

Thank you for your stay and we feel sorry you did not fully enjoy it. We noticed you were very stressed out arriving at the hotel because of the road works. As Bruges is situated in the flemish part of Belgium the road signs are indeed in dutch. We did warn our customers in advance about the road diversions but...

We spent 3 nights in this hotel in April. I picked the hotel, because one could get rooms with a view of the canal. We arrived at 3PM and we were checked in and in our room in less than 5 minutes. We had a Deluxe Canal View Room. It was a very good size, much larger than average European...

We have had a short, but excellent stay at Die Swaene, largely due to the exceptional kindness and helpfulness of their front desk staff, Maartje and especially Lieven. Both have gone out of their way to provide help and support with information about the hotel, the city, and our travel plans. All of our interactions with them have been warm...

My grown daughter and I stayed at the Hotel De Swaene for 2 nights and wish we could have stayed longer. It was a great location set on a canal close to the fish market, and Grote Markt, yet far enough to be tranquil. The staff suggested a wonderful local restaurant for us, and were very attentive and helpful. They...

In short, the staff and owners are quick to point the finger at the customer. I was a bit shocked to receive my bill with 80 euro charge for breakfast for two mornings. I expressed my surprise to the staff, who said you should have known since it was disclosed when I booked my hotel. I responded I did not...

This place has it all: excellent location with walking distance to the main attractions. Charming decor in the public areas and the rooms. Obliging and friendly staff. Good breakfast. Our room was in the new wing on the opposite side of the canal with a water view and fire which my wife liked a lot. There was a slight problem...
