I'd just like to say, this is a guesthouse. I think some travelers expect the Hilton. It was clean and well loved by the owners. Sure, there were a few bits hanging around and obviously the next projects waiting to be completed when Hans gets the time. It was very homely, like a guesthouse should be. We were a family...

This is a charming bed and breakfast very close to the old city center. The owner is very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, the breakfast had a lot of choice. There is not lift so if you have trouble climbing stairs it might be a little tricky. I wished there were fresh fruits for breakfast.

Nice location, in reality about 30 mins walk from the main square. All clean and not a bad breakfast. The garden is a mess. The lawn needs cutting and there are two stagnant ponds at the front. We ended up with a mosquito in our room so it came from somewhere local. The supermarket deliveries next door can be noisy...

All the other comments are accurate: great room, good breakfast, Hans is nice and helpful, perfect distance from centre of town, a nice gem in the short outskirt of town. My 3 stars has to do with the fact that it seems the proprietors are in this slightly above their heads. The yard is not manicured (and I'm not that...

My best friend & I visited the lovely city of Brugge for a long weekend at the beginning of June 2015. I had a look through the hotels in Brugge and came across this hidden delight. There were many good reviews so I reserved a room. On arrival Hans was extremely welcoming and sat us down to show us the...

We spent 2 nights here as a family of 3. The room was very comfortable and the ensuite bathroom seemed newly remodelled, spacious and clean. Our host Hans was very helpful in giving us maps, restaurant and other recommendations. It was a 10 minute walk to the entrance to the old part of Bruges, and another 10 minutes to the...

Guest house was about 1km out of the city centre. Arrived mid morning and very friendly proprietor let us park for the day. Next day after checking out told us where there was free parking on the nearby ring road. Large spacious corner room on first floor with substantial (newly refurbished?) bathroom. Very quiet. Good buffet breakfast. Excellent value for...

We arrived on 17th April 2015 as a surprise birthday treat from my partner. Well, let's start at the very begining........... Arrived at this beautiful mansion house and was greeted by an extremely polite and friendly gentleman called Hans. He welcomed us in and sat us down where he gave us a map and shared some really informative information about...

Travelling with children and requiring parking can add up to an expensive stay in Bruges so Gasthof Groenhove was a good, economical choice for us. The location was convenient with the central square being a 20 minute walk so we did not have to move our car from the free parking at the inn. Service was excellent with Hans providing...

After arriving in bruges mid afternoon with no hotel booked, me and my other half found this hotel through trip adviser and I can safely say I'm glad we did! After locating the hotel on a quiet suburb just outside the city gates, we turned up without prior booking and we're very warmly welcomed by a lovely chap (unfortunately didn't...
