We got a great deal on this hotel and couldn't understand why the reviews were so wide ranged. The bad the hotel is located in a run down area and could clearly do with being updated.

Residencial Afonso III is an old, traditional style hotel very close to Faro train and bus stations, walking distance even with heavy luggage. The area does not seem inviting near a derelict factory and old abandoned commercial premises but apparently they're heritage buildings.
