Stayed here in July 2013 - booked via Hostel Bookers. This is a lovely little place, very quiet despite being just round the corner from some of the busiest bars in Lagos. Our room was in the main building, and had 3 single beds and en suite, with air con and free wi-fi. Very clean and cleaned every day. We also had access to the building next door which had a kitchen and eating area. While we never used this, it is a good facility to have. We had a fridge in our room to keep drinks cool etc. We would definitely stay there again and recommend to others.

Dina's guesthouse is, as it is named, simply the bottom floor of a lovely old lady called Dina's house. The beds are really nice, the first proper beds we had after a month of travelling, the location couldn't be more perfect, and there is even a little courtyard that we used for pre drinks before going out. Dina doesn't speak much English, but she is really nice, and put up with us making a fair bit of noise. She also offers to wash your clothes for about 1 euro per kilo. Free wifi also included. All around perfect place to stay for younger kids like me on a relatively tight budget, saving their money for more important things like pub crawls.

Only complaint is that it is hard to find! We arrived at 3am in the morning and wandered the streets without a map or wifi. Maybe the fact that it was dark and the streets were full of drunkards made it hard, but I would be cautious to make sure I had a map before searching for the place.

I stayed at Dina's Guesthouse because it was the only one available when my wife was searching for our stay in Lagos. I would have given Dina's an excellent review if it was not for the horrible smoke condition we encountered.
Upon arriving at Dina's with my wife and 2 children we were greeted by a woman with no emotions(I can deal with that). The thing that really got us was the stench of cigarette smoke as we entered Dina's. Our bed linens as well as the towels in our bathroom stunk of cigarette smoke. That was it for us! Unfortunately we had to spend 2 unhappy nights at Dina's because everywhere else had no vacancies. By now you can figure out that we are not smokers and we abhor it!!!

Pros of Dina's!
Large room(separated from the children by French doors)
Private bathroom
Private kitchenette(cool)
Excellent location(walking distance to shops, restaurants, supermarkets etc....)

This guesthouse would be great for smokers or non-smokers who are not bother by the smell of smoke.

Sir, as you say, our property was the only one available as we had problems with the website booking, there have been overbooking - was the high season!!!. Thus, to honor your reservation, we had to accommodate four Swedish girls elsewhere (unfortunately because they were very happy in the bedroom and in the location you just barely spoke . Pity is send happy guests away . Yes, It could smell of tobacco (without having guilt), but it is an exaggeration to say that the sheets and towels also smelled, like the rest of your comment makes no sense. Notice the other comments in this community and think well if it really is as you say. Thus, is a great location and you rate horrible in the location, and in the facilities – with private bath, large room, etc as you say?!?!Here we want customers with holiday spirit. Had been lucky to FIND accommodation due to the problem we had with the reservation website. We expect other stays at other locations match your expectations. Dina

positive:
- nice location/ central location - just 2 minutes to the main restaurant strip/ pub strip
- clean room/ bathroom, daily cleaning
- kitchen with all necessary equipment
- cosy terrace where you can have your meals
- separate entrance
- wifi was working well

negative:
- noisy - due to hostels/pubs in the close neighbourhood and the party people going home through the small alleys
- no parking places at the guesthouse - you have to park your car outside the old city walls (so 5-10 minutes walk)
- the next supermarket (intermarche) was 15 minutes walk away - for Aldi or Lidl you would need a car

Dina's Guesthouse is in the old town and only a 5 min walk from the centre of Lagos. Dina is lovely and made sure everything was perfect for our stay - we were only booked to stay one night but extended for another night because it was so good.
The room was a good size, the area is quite so had a really good sleep, the place is super clean, and the wifi is strong. There is a shared kitchen that has everything you need - we used it to cook some food in the evening. Fantastic value for money. Definitely recommend staying here in Lagos!

We stayed here just for a night unfortunately but wanted to extend to a week.
Dina's guesthouse is in the heart of old town, just a 6-7 minute walk to the city centre and a 13 min walk to the Marina. It has the best of pubs, cafes right at the corner and the famous Dona Ana beach is also a 15 minute walk tops.
Lagos is an absolutely delightful place to visit with the trip to the Grottos being a must.
The guesthouse is situated on the first floor with a kitchen and an open dining terrace with a barbeque facility.
The lady was super helpful and cooperative.
Highly recommend staying here.

Perfect location in Lagos and both close to the beach, shopping and nigtlife. Everything is in place, it is very clean and has a really nice balcony at the back. The woman that runs it is charming, and made us feel welcome. Booked a stay for three nights but expanded with two more because we fell in love with lagos, and thought the place had really good value.

After getting lost with an impatient 6 year old and a heavy back pack from the station, it was a breath of fresh air. The room was huge, spotless and very comfy. Dina our host was a gem and nothing was too much trouble. It was close to the everything and far more homely than the other concrete monstrosities on offer
