Reception a bit cold and condescending. My room on the ground floor of the mansion was damp to the point of having really damp sheets. Why do they need to put air-freshner in the room, that stupid thing contain many VOCs with more than a third classified as toxic or hazardous? What is to mask the dampness? I asked for...

A beautiful beautiful hotel with a long history and a romantic story to match! The whole hotel is beautiful - make sure you leave time to explore the vast gardens and extensive public rooms. Rooms are alittle small but size is made up by the lovely ambience. Not to be missed.

A room was small but clean. A bathroom is dated and need renovation. I had dinner at the restaurant but found the pork was dry. If you don't mind walking to the town which is about 20 minutes, this is a decent hotel in Coimbra.

This is a beautiful old palace set amid old and magical gardens that has been converted into a luxury hotel, spa and restaurant. Our Deluxe Palace room was large, comfortable and charming. The public rooms here are to be savored, with their antique furnishings and irresistible sense of history. Have an after-dinner drink from the honor bar in the main...

We have stayed in a superior suite. The room was spacious with a small seating area & tiny terrace-generally comfortable. The building is old so you walk in labyrinth like. Location is 10 min from old town. Overpriced.

This hotel is a little heaven hidden from the main tourist area of Coimbra. The historical significance of this place is fascinating...the gardens, the fountains, the story of Pedro and Ynes, it all makes you feel like you are part of a romantic dream to savour and enjoy. The rooms are spacious and well designed for today's conforts, the spa,...

This was the best hotel I have ever stayed in. From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty. The room had a large four poster bed the view was beautiful and the hotel staff were helpful and friendly. Everywhere was the story of Ines and Pedro, when walking the grounds you could picture the scene, I will return...

This is a very upmarket establishment, with, I am told a restaurant to match. Unfortunately, it is some way from the centre of Coimbra, on the south bank of the river Mondego, and in an area that doesn't do the hotel any favours, but I guess most guests are driven to and fro and never experience the "locals". They were...

As you first approach this hotel, you'll think it's gorgeous. As you get closer, you'll find it stranger and stranger. They've attached a giant, modern (and ugly) hotel extension and conference center...to an otherwise charming quinta? You'll come inside and the service will be mediocre. The front desk seems always to be understaffed and somewhat unhappy. You'll be taken to...

A delightful garden setting blending old & newer buildings... but suffering a bit from the resulting identity crisis. We were travelling between Porto & Lisbon and used Coimbra as a logical stop-off point to break the train journey for a day & night. This property has a bit of an identity crisis and its melding of original buildings and modern...
