We recently stayed at the Tivoli Coimbra. It is a very good reasonably priced hotel that is centrally located in Coimbra. Walking to the University, the Royal Palace, a number of the most important churches is very convenient. It also comes with a good solid breakfast included in the price.
This is probably the best hotel in Coimbra for the money. The rooms are spacious and we got a two room suite. The second room was a living room, and the staff brought in a rollaway bed for our teenage daughter. The rollaway bed had the same thick, comfortable mattress as the double bed in the bedroom. The bathroom is fairly large as well, and so is the hallway. This was the most spacious hotel room we had during our entire trip in Portugal. The beds and sitting chairs were the most comfortable of our entire trip. The room is well furnished. There is a good size desk, mini-fridge, etc. The hotel provides a free 750cl bottle of still water. The bathroom is large and well furnished. It is stylish and has a great tub/shower with both rainfall and handheld shower-heads. The bath towels are the largest and softest I've ever had. The hotel provides valet parking for 9 Euros/night. Service is very good. We didn't eat at the hotel or use it's other facilities, but it seemed very nice. The hotel is about a half mile from the start of the main pedestrian shopping street which has many restaurants; easy walking distance. This hotel was the most pleasant surprise of our trip.…
We had been traveling for a week & were delighted to spend a few days in this warm inviting hotel with a good size immaculate room. Close to the main part of town decked out with beautiful holiday lights, convenient for parking. The staff was the most fluent in English in all the hotels we stayed at. The linens were crisp and the furnishings cozy including 2 comfy chairs for reading. The restaurant was casual with a very nice staff and decent food. Our only criticisms have more to do with hotel planners, bathroom needed extra wall hooks, shower head too large for the size of the tub, towel bars to far from sink, one soap for 2 people a shower and a sink...makes no sense!
Lovely spacious rooms, larger than most hotels in this price range. Large bathroom with excellent shower. Parking available onsite for a small fee. Nice breakfast. Location isn't perfect but it's only a short pleasant walk to the city centre. Would recommend and would stay again if in the area.
It is a lovely hotel close to the city center. The rooms are spacious and clean with excellent bathrooms. The staff was kind and efficient in English, Spanish and Portuguese. They also served a spectacular breakfast that worth the little extra it might cost compared to other hotels.
