General Manager José Branco has put together the most professional & caring team in the business. While it's a 5-star property, the service is 5+ stars!    The hotel is taking covid seriously, with staff wearing masks at all times. But none of this diminishes their warm-hearted nature and genuine interest in making sure that you enjoy your stay. Nuno, the front office manager, and his team helped me navigate Portugal like a local. If you can, pay for the premium rooms. You will enjoy sitting on your balcony, overlooking the ocean and admiring the sunrises and sunsets. If you sleep with the balcony door open, you'll be able to hear the waves crashing.     The breakfast (included in my room rate) was gourmet, with everything that you could possibly want. The omelets were delightful, and if you haven't had Portuguese oranges (laranjas), you are in for a treat!  The pool--stunning.   The hotel is steps away from one of the best beaches in Portugal, and the center of Cascais is an easy 10 minute stroll.  For those contemplating Lisbon, choose Cascais. You can take the train (right near the hotel) or uber (35 mins) into Lisbon. I did that multiple times and, while I like Lisbon a lot, I was always glad to arrive back in Cascais.  Back to the wonderful staff, upon learning that I was studying Portuguese, they all became tutors of mine, teaching me new words and phrases every day.   I miss my friends at the Miragem.  I wish them the very best, and I cannot wait to return! Até a próxima meus amigos!

I spent four nights at the mirage in September 2020. Overall I was very impressed with the facilities and service. The staff were very professional and friendly. The room was very comfortable and the food was amazing. There were two negative experiences. The first happened relates to an incident involving broken glass by the swimming pool. I was walking over from my sun lounger toward the towel storage area. As I approached the staff who were handing out beach towels, I felt a sharp pain in my heel and had to stop walking immediately. I sat down and saw that I had broken glass stuck in the skin of my heel pad. The staff were very helpful and came to my assistance immediately. Fortunately I was able to remove the glass fragment fairly easily with my fingers. Nevertheless it was quite an unpleasant experience. I expressed my concern to the pool staff and they promptly brought out a broom and swept the area. My second concern is perhaps slightly out of the control of the hotel management. Having spent four afternoons lying by the pool I did not witness a single guest shower before entering the water. Many had been lying in the sun for hours and I was surprised that nobody showered. Perhaps a polite notice recommending that guests shower is in order? The pool is not chlorinated (i believe it has a uv filter system). Maybe it’s just me... showering before swimming on a hot day, drenched in sweat seems like a good idea.

What a fabulous hotel. Could not recommend enough. We booked last minute thinking we would not need to quarantine on our return. Portugal however was added once again to the list, so we are currently isolating at home. May I say it was worth it . The hotel and staff are magnificent. Very impressive entrance and lobby. (temperature checks as you enter) Nice pool with well spaced sun beds. Bedrooms are amazing. We had a massive king size bed, ( requested) , large bathroom and a balcony with fabulous views of the pool and sea. The food was very good . We opted for half board and ate outside everyday as the weather was very hot. Breakfast was a buffet with hot and and cold options. This was served from behind Perspex Screens .The evening meal was served at the table. Plenty of choices for all meals and very good quality. The cleanliness and Covid measures were impeccable. Plenty of no touch sanitisers, all staff wore masks , residents wore masks when walking around in communal areas, timed cleaning of rooms, social distancing adhered to, regular temperature checks when entering the hotel. We felt very safe. Cascais is a beautiful place and easily reached from the hotel via a well lit underpass, probably about 10 minutes walk to the town. Lots of little shops and nice places to eat. The sardines were big and very good. All places were very clean, all staff wear masks, plenty of sanitisers and good social distancing. They are very proactive re Covid. Nice walk to Estoril along the promenade with several beach front cafes for a drink or meal. So many positives about this wonderful hotel and place. Will definitely return in better times. The Portuguese were friendly and helpful. What a magnificent place.

Hotel Miragem Cascais is very good hotel and I can recommend it as a good base to sightsee Lisbon, because the train station to Lisbon is around 15 minutes on foot from the hotel. The biggest asset of the hotel is its staff (in the reception, in the restaurant and at the pool). They all deserve even 6 stars. They were always very polite and do their job very professionally. All our problems were being solved immediately. We stayed in premium room, which was clean with big bathroom and nice ocean view, on half-board basis. Currently, the breakfast is a buffet-style but the food is given to you by the staff. The choice is quite good, especially fruits are delicious (our favourite was mango). However, the warmer meals (like i.a. scrambled eggs or pork sausages) were just lukewarm. Dinner is a la carte, and there is a choice of around 5-6 starters, main courses (2-3 fish, 1 chicken, 1 duck and 1 beef) and desserts. All meals were delicious and freshly prepared. For two days we swap dinner into lunch without any problems or additional charges. The lunch menu is the same. Pool area is well maintained, not very big but spacious. The pool staff is disinfecting the sun beds and tables after every guest, they also frequently clean showers and handrails. The only negative surprise was outside the hotel. The road next to the hotel is quite busy and can be loudly, together with the train, which can be annoying in the night, when you left open balcony door.
